Thank you but it is not hope or luck or anything of the sort that will carry me to victory tomorrow. It is my nerves of steel and iron resolve which gives me my boundless strength and endurance. That is what my enemies will feel tomorrow as they smell the burnt rubber of my shoes in front of them.
Would it make me a wimp to skip out on a 5K?

Then it is for this reason that you should study origami.
A true master of origami can fold space-time itself. You will then lose no raise and your enemies will suffer your wrath.

Perhaps the running is a necessary survival skill needed for when he's practicing his swallow technique in dark alleys. Ya think?

I have been doing a lot of running recently in addition to my standard training routine of weight lifting and freestyle martial arts/swordfighting. I did a 5K(3.1 miles) race last week which I finished in a mind blowingly fast time of 19:33.
As many of you know, a 5 K is really nothing as I have run races of far greater distance.
However, I pulled a calf muscle recently and it has been tremendously painful. This is bad because I have another 5K coming up this upcoming Saturday.
People are telling me I should forfeit the race. Pain is not an issue as I have learned to ignore all pain in my body. Rather the issue is that I fear further injury may impede my running abilities in the future and I should therefore rest for a bit.
Are there any kinesiology students who can give me a suggestion on what actions I should take?
I don't usually respond to your threads...but in this case I will..for once.
Ignoring pain...can have long-term effects. Crippling effects as a matter of fact. From your post I see that you consider yourself to be "heroic" and therefore defying pain..etc etc.
I know people like you...I have seen what happens in the long-term. Spinal injuries...neck injuries...stuff that will haunt you all your life.
I would suggest if you are doing these things to yourself..that you at least consult a medical professional..to make sure that you aren't in the long run putting yourself in a wheelchair as an end result.
You aren't invincible...you are human, just like the rest of us. To ignore that...well those results will be your consequences to live with.

Seconded, and please do. I'd proudly carry it into raids.
Also, mr BJ doesn't have an ED page. How come?

I can't help but develop a picture of Scrappy Doo, but in this situation there is no Scooby to pull your ass out. By the way I hope you do finish even if you cross the line on two bloody nubs that were once your legs. Be a man damnit! *whipsers* I believe in you bosomjack... I believe...
