I started a new (and my second!) playthrough of DAO today and named my character Evelyn. Because she's a two handed warrior (human) and now I can nickname her Amazon Eve.

Gwyneth sounds more badass, therefore more appropriate for a warrior.  Guinevere sounds more like a name suitable for a mage.

How many badass Gwyneth's do you know?  That's a grandmother's name.

I don't know any Gwyneths, badass or not.  I do, however, know a few badass grandmothers.

I have only done one playthrough so far, but I'm gearing up for my second one. I normally make up my characters' names because well, fantasy setting and names like Emily and Elizabeth, just don't put me in the fantasy mood.

DAO:

Female Human DW Rogue: Lithréna (Lith-ren-ya. This is the name I created for my Skyrim character. I just made it up and I liked it so much I use it for all my fantasy and D&D stuff.)

DAII:

Female DW Rogue: Nora (I just love this name. I use it in most of my modern day RPs. It wound up fitting in really well in my opinion.)

DAI:

Female Human DW Rogue: Valenia (Va-len-yah or Vah-len-yah. Another name I made up.)

I named my human mage Cyrus Amell because I thought Cyrus sounded pretty cool, like a name meant for someone who is intended to do great things (good or bad).

My dwarf noble I named Kyran Aeducan, which in the lingo of Internet-Irish is an anglicized Gaelic male name meaning "little dark one" - which I thought fitting for a dwarf who would be accused of killing his own brother, bring about the death of his other brother, and place Harrowmont on the throne after helping a dwarven cleric set up a chapel in Orzimmar (because, hey - Leliana). Yup, all around heroic and all around probably bad for the dwarven people. On the bright side, has a nice ring for a Paragon's house: House Kyran. Perfect.

I had to look it up because the language nerd in me insisted that it meant "ruler" in Greek.  (Sorry, inner language nerd, that would be the name Basil that means "ruler.")  Cyrus is a Latin form of a Greek word meaning "like the sun" - which definitely makes it a name suitable for someone meant for great things.

Cedric. Because it more or less works with every class, and race, and flows well with all the surnames. I hate coming up with names, so I have a few I tend to stick to.

God help me if I ever get a woman pregnant. I can't name videogame characters. If I have to name a real person I am fucked. At least it's a two party deal.

I've always left my Cousland and Amell wardens (Aedan and Daylen) with the default names because I couldn't think of anything better at the time and throughout the course of the game the names seemed to fit the characters and just stuck.

Reggae names like Bono, then you got Loki, Fenris or Lokkar fairly due to their mythological concept
