My human Rogue (female) is called Clare, after Clare from the Claymore anime series. I even modeled the character after her as best I could at the creation screen. She's an Archer who finally got her buff with awakening.

Among others, I have two elves called Raelis Shai and Phaere that BG2 fans surely recognize. A little tribute to Bioware, they're better with names I ever could be
Also have a human noble female called Silmarien, inspired by Tolkien.
Raelis Shai was awesome, I didn't like Phaere much though.
I named my character Tyran. It's been a nickname I've had for most characters in most games for a few years now so I might as well continue the trend.

Dwarf Commoner Female - Johcasta (from the Greek Oedipus trilogy, spelling slightly modified)
Dwarf Noble Male - Odin (Norse god, no particular reason except it seemed to fit in well with Bhelen and Trian)
Dalish Elf Female - Kaigua (actually found on graffiti in a public toilet and it sounded fittingly exotic)
City Elf Female - Arisara (again, came across the name randomly and liked it enough to use)
The two playthroughs I HAVE finished are both Human Nobles:
Sebastian (possibly my favourite male name ever, means 'revered')
Fearchara (chosen after I discovered all the Cousland names are Scottish in origin, Fearchara meaning 'dear')
Great thread!

Apparently it's a fairly common name for women in modern-day Israel, but when I picked it out, I was thinking more along the lines of its original meaning (that is, Egyptian for 'beloved of the goddess Anat').
Anat herself was a Syrian war goddess- there's a fragmentary passage that describes her as "wading knee-deep in blood, striking off heads, cutting off hands, binding the heads to her torso and the hands in her sash, driving out the old men and townsfolk with her arrows, her heart filled with joy".
My Warden's an archer, and she's a little... well, let's face it, she's a little unstable. And by that I mean extremely short-tempered. And by that I mean "liable to put an arrow through your eye if you get in her way".
Granted, she mellows considerably by the end of the game, but in the beginning she's blunt, vindictive, and possesses a mean streak a mile wide. (In other words, prickly. Very, very prickly.)
I thought it was fitting. :3

its simple enough, what did you name your PC(s) and why, everyone has a motivation for calling them what ever they did for some reason and i just thought it would be intreasting to see the names and reasons behind it all.
now i'll go irst, i called my Human male warrior Achilles because for those of you that know even the slightest bit about greek mytholgy your'll know that Achilles is meant to be the greatest warrior that ever lived and i found it fitting that if my guy is gonna save Thedas than this is in appropiate name, i also love the fillm troy and brad pitts performance in it not to mention i find greek mytholgy highly intreasting. So now its your turn, fire away.
I'm Greek so...I know.It's cool!Hehehe!
I named my character Tsagia from what I remember because...that's half my surname.Oh...male character of course not female.
