bored to invent new names so i just put what ever i heard on TV while playing...

 My first character I named Ella, after Ella Enchanted.

My second Character I named Katara from Avatar the last air bender.

Why? I don't think I have a reason, couldn't think of a name appropriate for the time period.

I name my fantasy characters Seracle. Just because I thought it sounded good when I first made it. Now it has become a tradition for fantasy games.

More games than I care to remember and most got blown up when I had first PC issues then mod issues with the game and had to uninstall it.  But, some stick out.  Names and meanings/notes of some of the ones that stick out the most in my head.

My two favorite wardens were Aranel and Arya Tabris. I got the name Aranel from a Tolkien elvish name site, and Arya was inspired by George R.R Martin's character.

My favorite Hawkes were Ingrid and Brandon. Brandon is a family name, and Ingrid, well I just liked the name.

I also have a Brandon Shepard, and a Tanna Shepard.

My male human mage is Kain and his dog is Ebel. I chose it because he is an evil character so what better name than the biblical murderer Cain. Then of course I had to call the dog Abel (but I spelled it Ebel since I spelled Cain differently, too).

I named my 3 main characters all Leena with the first letter of their elf origin tacked on the front of their name thus - Elf Mage - Meleena, City elf - Celeena, and Dalish Elf - Deleena.

My female human noble's name is Tiara Elissa (or just Tiara or Tia if short). I called her like this just to to emphasize her noble parentage.

All of my Wardens have a t least 1 'a' and at least 1 'n' in their name... because I can.

Human Noble Male: Teran Cousland (a play on teryn; current game)
Human Noble Female: Rienna Cousland (thought it was cool and appropriate)
Human Mage Female: Selena Cousland (Selena not Selina; same reason as Rienna)
City Elf Male: Orian Tabris (first character, I had no idea that the name is appropriate for an elf; based on Orion the constellation)
Dalish Elf Female: Vinaiya Mahariel (made it up, had no idea it was a real world name - it's an Indian female name; it went well with the surname)
Dwarf Commoner Female: Daina Brosca (thought it sounded funny, not to mention dwarven)
Dwarf Noble Male: Lehran Aeducan (based off of Lehran from the Fire Emblem series; I also named my warrior Hawke, Pelleas after another Fire Emblem character)

I consider all of them to be the actual people from the origins (so if I'm playing Orian for example, the rest had tragic ends - such as Daina dying with Leske, in her cell within Jarvia's lair), with the exception of Rienna Cousland, who is from a stand-alone universe, separate from the one the other 6 are in, and separate from other people's universes. Also, each Hawke has a name dependant on the imported game (or Garrett Hawke for those I haven't imported)

Yep, I take my characters very seriously in Origins.

The only name of mine that had any reason was my "main" file. Dumat. Silent protagonist, god of silence. It seemed appropriate. My Hawke following that file is named Zazikel, after the god of chaos. You're lying if you say Hawke doesn't deserve that.

I name my characters after me " Pebbles " yes, my name is Pebbles not all the time i name my characters after my name.
But anyways the reason i name my Warden after me is i rather like the idea of me killing an archdemon, becoming queen, being bad ass, and marrying Alistair.

thus i give the characters ( in a DA setting, andraste and all ) christian names

human noble - conrad, because it fits
elf mage - eve, because she's an elf and city elf and i wanted the name to sound human
human - daniel, "god is my judge' for someone who does not believe in the maker
