Ok so... I've been scouring these boards for an answer to my plight, but it seems A LOT of people are having the exact same problem as me; some have had luck but it looks like most are still getting this error. I've tried all the practical "fixes" and "solutions" from updating EVERYTHING to its most current drivers etc, checking game file sizes for missing or corrupt files, running both processors from the boot menu and running setup.exe as admin and all that, uninstalling AVs and installing game, using the no cd cracks for both versions, as well as a couple other basic things.
Now, heres the thing... the first time I try to run the game, a warning pops up saying, "Your current hardware configuration is not supported. The game will continue, but you may experiance some instablity." So no suprise its not wanting to run... I havnt seen other people getting this error message before their games crash, so it leads me to wonder if it might actually be my video card ("chip"... Mobil Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family). Which i hope its not... it wouldnt fully suprise me though. So, I was wondering if this had the right specs to cut it:

Other then Video "Chip" ("Crap") failure/inadiquacy I have one last hope of faulty discs (retail bought) and to exchange them... I saw one guy on here freaking out and his buddys disk ended up running the game on his comp when everything else failed.
Now, if this does happen to be my crappy assed video adapter, can someone suggest a solution to this problem on a laptop? Its cheaper/easier to buy a new laptop from what I understand, but I've heard of "external" video cards? Are these like seperate power supplyed usb connected display adapters, and where would I find one if thats the case? If not.... any suggestions (constructive please) would be appreciated, thank you very much.

Yep, it's your video chip. Intel graphics are not meant for 3D gaming, sorry.

No way to fix it. The Intel chip just isn't designed for Direct3D. And, being a laptop, there's very likely no way to add in a video card after the fact - even if there was, you'd likely end up paying a lot for a pretty bad card.

yep, thats what I was afraid of. Well, thanks for answering my question, I guess I'll just copy all the game files and make some disc images on my external hard drive and save it for when I can get a system that'll run it. Thanks again.

Ok! Last question and I shall let people get to more important things, anyone know of a good laptop (manufacturer or just a particular model) that will run this decently well? I need to get a new one anyways...
