I talk about adding skin tones for use in the CC, and using the same tactics you can add the colors and such. If the files you want to use have chargen files, and you have multiple chargen files, try this to combine them, or open the chargen with notepad and do it manually:

And don't worry, the installed mods automatically work with the character creator (except if they implicitly state that they only work with the toolset).

ok thx.My main question actually is if the mods work with the standalone cc I don't have the full game on pc I only downloaded the character creatorCaladhiel wrote...
There's usually a description that comes with the mods on how to install them. In the Nexus, you'll find it either under 'description' or under 'files' of the mod you want to download.

Some mods do work with the downloadable CC, and some don't. There are tricks around some of it. My guide in the link discusses some of this. If the mod has a chargenmorph file associated with it, then generally it should work with the CC. Like Cala said, look in the description, and see what it says for installation.
As for installing mods with just the standalone CC and not having the full game...I am not quite sure how that would work, since I don't know what folders are installed with just the CC. Overrides are generally installed under (at least under Windows 7):
My Documents > Bioware > Dragon Age > Packages > Core > Override
If you have an override folder, I would assume you could get the mods to work.
