Woohoo!
This was the one missing feature in the NWN2 toolset that really made terrain creation a pain. There was no reasonably easy way to blend the textures without continually altering texture strength, brush size, etc. and then painting the same area over and over until there was a decent blending. I finally gave up on making areas because of this one omission.
With the DAO toolset I just painted a winding cobble texture over grass (default brush has a decent blend to begin with) and then ran the texture smooth a couple of times along the cobble texture edges. The end result was a well worn looking path that blends beautifully into the surrounding terrain.
On that one quick experiment I would guess the time needed to get that result in the NWN2 toolset would have been about 10x as long -- texture smooth I <3 you.
