I didn't search the forums or anything related to this. So, any ideas be helpful.
Also, my video card sucks...
It's an ATI X1300. Yeah. I'm amazed it can still play ME2.

I really do not understand that claim in the slightest. The X1300 is literally MILES (OK, only "Leagues, perhaps) beneath the (practical) minimum performing X1n00 cards for this game (X1650 Pro and X1650 XT), and also quite a long ways below the X1600 that is the named minimum. It's worse, IMO, than merely "it sucks" -- I can't figure at all how / why it was managing to work.JesusHorse wrote...
Also, my system meets all the requirements. And the system is XP...
www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php
"MINIMUM Graphics
Video Card = 256 MB (with Pixel Shader 3.0 support). Supported GPU Chips: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 or greater; ATI Radeon X1600 Pro or greater. Please note that NVIDIA GeForce 7100, 7200, 7300, 7400, 7500, 8100, 8200, 8300, 8400, 9200, and 9300; ATI Radeon HD 2400, 3100, 3200, HD 3450, HD 3470, HD 4200, and HD 4350 are below minimum system requirements. Updates to your video and sound card drivers may be required. Intel and S3 video devices are not officially supported in Mass Effect 2."
Just because the X1300 wasn't named as inadequate, and so slow that the interaction features wouldn't work with it, look at all of the BETTER cards than the X1300 that are named, such as the 3450, 3470, and 4350, and you should be aware that the HD 3200 onboard chip is the same silicon as the X1300 Pro, and it doesn't work, either.
(Yes, I know that the X1300 cards were superior to the HD 2400s, speedwise, but not to the HD 3400 pair. Just in case, though, you do realize that there were several different X1300s, including a last one that was in fact just the old X1600 Pro with a new name, which was "X1300 XT", and that would in fact "only suck" a normal amount of ordinary suckage.)
Running a lttle mathematical check, the X1300 Vanilla only reached 36%, 25%, 75%, 30%, and 75% of the criteria that it shared with the Practical minimum video card. When it comes to the (inadequate) official card, those five numbers were 64%, 30%, 90%, 36%, and 90%.

I just want to address some of the complaints also. Its not that we don't care about this bug. We just don't know what's wrong yet.
My guess is that your framerate is too low, or there is something wrong with your graphics driver. I can't get into specifics, but the game relies on the graphics card to determine if something was "visible recently". If your frame rate is low enough, then the game will never think something is "visible recently".
Please let me know anything relevant about your graphics card or graphics settings, including the framerate. if possible. If the game is under 10 FPS, it may cause problems.

Ok so I think for some of you the problem is the low framerate. For now, the best solution is for you to get a faster framerate. You can get this by reducing your resolution. We made a technical decision that the game would rely on the framerate being at least a certain level.
I apologize because I know you're great fans, and you want to see the game in full glory even though your machine isn't the fastest. But at the same time, we had to have technical limitations somewhere.
