Hi. I made the tragic mistake of buying a few Dr Peppers for the redeemable item codes. I've since learned that this is the stupidest and most tedious promotion in the history of marketing but whatever, that's irrelevant now. Had I known there were 9024352 steps to actually get my damn items, including creating 2 different logins and selling 1 soul, I'd never have taken bought the damn bottles in the first place but since I have and have gone through all that nonsense already, no reason to let them go to waste.

So without further ado, my question is; how do I link my EA profile to my XBL gamertag so I can get my stupid goggles and never come back to this unnecessary site or buy another Dr Pepper product ever again?

Log into your ea account at ea.com, add your gamertag as a 'persona'.

Doesn't work. Nothing EA touches ever does.

It says my gamertag is already in use which is funny since I've never signed up for anything Bioware or EA until yesterday so how my they already list my tag as in use is...well I guess not surprising at all given their gross incompetence.

Now I'm just waiting on a forum moderator to tell me that it's an irreversable problem and that my codes are wasted and unredeemable.

Don't you need a EA Bioware log in to connect to the Cerberus network? As far as I know, the same log in for the forums is your Bioware account, I could be wrong, it's been awhile since I set up my forum account.

Sounds like your gamertag is already attached to an EA account. It could have been an EA Sports game you've played in the past, or any other EA game with online features.

Contact EA support, and have them merge the accounts. Make sure you remind them to attach your Cerberus code to the new account after the merge process. Your issue is far from unique, lots of people have had this problem in the last few months.

Mass Effect 1 and 2 are (thankfully) the only EA products for the 360 that I have the misfortune of owning so I've never registered with them before. I hate that what should have taken not even 10 minutes is now entering day 3.

GOOD WORK RUNNING A PROMO, YOU INEPT CLOWNS.

Maybe next time you can make us jump through a flaming hoop over a pool of sharks for a stupid N7 hat to throw on our avatar. Of course only after we've signed up for another 30 different websites. And obviously you'd wait for said sharks to claim both my legs before telling me I'm ineligible due to a software glitch.

I doubt it will work, fred, but I'll give it a shot. Thanks all the same for being more helpful than any of the people who actually get paid to do this.

Here's hoping BioWare will someday find a new ship to sail with (just not Activision) so EA can't drag their product through the mud anymore.

Mass Effect 1 wasn't an EA title

At the time no. But technically now it is.
