given the extreme rarity and pain in the ass it is to get a patch past the microsoft certification, it is very odd that there is no announcement.
can you guys elaborate? did you get a formal update screen for the patch when you put the ME2 disc in?

Yes, once you launch the game, it alerts you that there is an update which you can choose to accept or not.
A rather pleasant Monday morning surprise!

I'm so pleased you released this patch. great great news, and thanks for listening to the fans.
However again I'm utterly stymied as to why you haven't ever told people that there was a patch in the works. Why suffer all the threads of complaint and gripe? Why couldn't you have just said the wheels were in motion towards getting it resolved?
It would have saved so much fuss..
Anyway right now I just don't care. Go Bioware! (and thanks again)

Follow the rainbow to the end and you get:
Hello Mass Effect 2 Xbox 360 players.
This morning a patch for Mass Effect 2 went live on the Xbox 360. This patch contains the following:
* Scanning for minerals has been optimized
* Fixed an issue with marking all entries as viewed in the Journal
* Fixed an issue relating to text and the menu screen
* Fixed an issue relating to players starting a new game and loading a save
* Fixed multiple issues when loading a save containing DLC when DLC isn't present
* Fixed an issue with ammo flashing when it can't be picked up
* Fixed an issue with crosshairs
* Fixed an issue with Grunt's Fortification power
* Fixed an issue with enemies and cover
* Fixed an issue where players could receive additional talent points
* Fixed an issue where squad members would overwrite ammo powers the player had assigned them
Currently this patch is only for the 360, but a patch for the PC version of Mass Effect 2 is in the works and we will have details as soon as they are ready. /images/forum/emoticons/smile.png

Yeaha, and they found this on our forums when I said it at the link I already provided.
Maybe I should see if it isn't too late to add a better detection skill into the patch.
