Stolen Memory - Was it intentionally made to be downright infuriating?

- Kasumi has this incredibly frustrating habit of charging headlong into gunfire. I've previously noticed that she gets a bit retarded with Shadow Strike, but here, she seems to just do Grunts charge... only not nearly as well. The only way I've figured out how to counteract it is by instantly telling her to stay in one place far from the battlefield. She's no Miranda or Thane when it comes to useful abilities, so my poor Adept has to do it all himself.
- Hock appears to have hired undead mercenaries. In certain sections, reloading a game saved after the fight resurrects anyone who's supposed to spawn during the previous battle... only after the battle is over... leaving me in the middle of a squad of eclipse vanguards and heavies in my save made right before facing hock. Kudos to whichever dev thought *that* was a good idea. There's nothing I love more than reloading.
- The black eclipse guards appear to have some sort of mystical protection that allows them to deflect Pull bolts after their shields have been taken down. IT doesn't work all the time, thankfully.
- Shepard's apparent possesion by some incorporeal pacifist force which forbids him from drawing his weapon until the very last possible second in the first section, effectively forcing me to either fight without ammo powers, or fight without biotics. What a good idea.
No offence Bioware, but if you're going to sell this stuff might it be an idea to iron these oddities out beforehand? I'm looking forward to Overlord but hell, what kind of state is that going to be released in?

A lot of the squaddies have frustrating habits of charging in recklessly if you leave them to their own accord.
The resurrecting guards thing happens in other places in the game when you reload as well.
No idea about the black eclipse guards here.
You fight against what, 2 guards in the "very first" segment? Is that honestly an issue?

With regard to the character, I use her for flashbang far more than shadowstrike, and find her to be a great asset to the team.

The only glitch I've noticed is:
I entered the Citadel and talked to Kasumi. The second playthrough in which I did this, I gave her the "Not right now" option on her mission and had not entered the Citadel before. From there, I walked right through the security scanner without any of the ususal "Excuse me, you're dead" dialog. I stopped by Bailey's desk anyway and he "fixed" my problem. Then I walked back out of the Citadel — and THEN got the "Excuse me, you're dead" routine.

Omicrone, did I say I found it particularly difficult? Some of the issues were annoying because the difficulty was artificially high (it doesn't matter how l33t you are, loading up and being surrounded by guys with rocket launchers is about as fair a test of skill as testing someone's survival skill by throwing them into a volcano), but the issue of the thread was that it was *infuriating*, as the title clearly states. Kindly read the post before spouting insults.

Well, I'm still wondering whether I was just monumentally unlucky and a whole load of bugs happened to occur one after the other. The whole thing about resurrecting guards only happened because I had to reload thanks to Kasumi doing her spaz-attack-get-shot routine, for instance.

Kasumi is at the top of the list for favorites in my squad. Her loyalty mission is one of my favorite missions in the game.
Don't get me wrong, once this mission is over and done with, Kasumi's combo of flashbangs and overload work wonders. The problem is that she doesn't have flashbang in the mission, and she's the only squaddie you have at that stage.
I enjoyed the music and the concept of the mission, most definitiely. I just didn't particularly like *something* going weird every single time I activated a power or loaded a game, that's all, and I wasn't sure if all that stuff was intentional.
A lot of the squaddies have frustrating habits of charging in recklessly if you leave them to their own accord.
I don't often see it, to be honest. The only one it seems to happen regularly with is Grunt, and on him, he at least can take the incoming fire and tends to smash whatever he charges.
The resurrecting guards thing happens in other places in the game when you reload as well.
It must be just my hard luck I first saw it here. I have *never* seen this happen before, and I'm a bit of chronic reloader, going so far to reload particular sections if I didn't clear them 'well enough' in my own estimation.
No idea about the black eclipse guards here.

That's not the point. As I said to Omicrone, it's not the difficulty that annoyed me, it was the simple fact that having to fiddle around with ammo powers, then having to take cover, then throwing a Pull bolt which appeared to bounce off and hit the roof just felt like I was playing a Mass Effect spoof. Like how Conrad Verner would handle the mission. It got seriously annoying, and I wasn't sure whether those guards were particularly resistant to biotics or something along those lines.

Its just you. I've never experienced any of the problems mentioned.
Not just me, I think - more like just my own horrible luck. I've just had another crack at the mission, and, aside from yet another bug I've never seen before (Kasumi sporting an ugly, low res skin that looks oddly like the texture for the Carnifex scaled up over her suit - needed a quick reload to fix) it worked just fine, and it was a blast. Quite literally, in the case of the finale where half of Hock's men ended up getting warp exploded off the landing pad.
Just goes to show how much damage bugs can inflict on a player's enjoyment of a fine piece of gameplay.

This happened to me after I uploaded from a previous save when my 360 froze. I don't know why it happened, but it was only the one time for me, so I attributed it to the system freezing on me midgame.

Did you went into the citadel before you done Horizon?
That happened to me once. Also I cannot get in the Presidium when I was in the cidadel for the first time. But after I done Horizon and went into the citadel for the second time I got scanned and able to go into the Presidium..

Oooh la la, I'm having 'fun' and games with this mission. Did anyone else find the whole pacing and structure to be absolutely awful? Here's just some tidbits that I've come across:

I've previously noticed that she gets a bit retarded with Shadow Strike, but here, she seems to just do Grunts charge... only not nearly as well. All squadmates suffer from similar problems. I can't tell you how many times my squadmates have jumped out of cover and into a hailstorm of enemy fire, just to drop dead before their feet hit the ground.
I had something similar to this happen once. I was doing Mordin's Recruitment Mission on the day that the Kasumi DLC came out, and saved after taking out the horde of Vorcha just outside the Environmental Plant (the area with something like 4 Blood Pack Heavy mobs on an unreachable catwalk). I'd finished killing everyone, and decided to check to see if the DLC was up yet. It wasn't, so I reloaded my save, only to find myself having to deal with another wave of enemies. I nearly died because I wasn't expecting it. Now, I simply play all missions straight through to avoid the issue.
- Shepard's apparent possesion by some incorporeal pacifist force which forbids him from drawing his weapon until the very last possible second in the first section, effectively forcing me to either fight without ammo powers, or fight without biotics. What a good idea.
Actually, it makes sense. If Shepard drew his weapon in the middle of the party, he'd cause all sorts of problems, and Hock would probably have him locked up. When Shepard does draw his pistol, it's only when he's out of sight of the party. The inability to set up Ammo Powers and such beforehand is annoying, but that particular section only has 5-8 guards max, and never in a group of more than 3, so while it's annoying, it's hardly game-breaking.

Yes, I did go to the Citadel before the Horizon mission. And now that you mention it, I had forgotten that the reason I went back out the door past the scanners was because I couldn't get to the Presidium from inside the Citadel.

I think JaegerBane is referring to the first wave of mercs in Hock's vault.
You have your ammo powers reseted, 'cause you took the locust. And most likely, you won't have Kasumi's powers properly mapped.

The first wave and the early guards, i.e. any area where you're expected to fight at a moment's notice. The ammo power system just doesn't work in those situations.
During the first wave I eventually compensated by simply pulling out my Arc Projector. Crispy fried eclipse.

Kasumi keeps telling Shepard she needs a clear path, so she can do her parkour and take out Gunship's shields
All guards are dead. The only red spot in the minimap it's the gunship. They can walk all over the roof, but nothin happens...
Nice reload there.

There is no better defense stripping ability then shadow strike. It is double as good as warp and overload.
