I really like Kasumi, and her mission. I just hate it when she becomes spiderman and takes out the chopper. the animations are awkward, and it just looks silly. but seriously, i take kasumi on 80 - 90% of missions. flashbang, overload, shadowstrike - how many other squadmates have that many useful abilities?

Never had a problem with this mission. You don't have to go the outside route to get in. There's another way. Best way is determined by your class.

I've found her mission more about keeping her tied to cover and alive than dealing with the enemy.

She dies easily and almost always. This is basically a "who needs squadmates" mission. At times it would seem downright daunting when staring at 20 eclipse mercs, but the assault sentiel always prevailed.

Must be difference in gameplay style. Kasumi rarely ever dies on me.

I don't really like Kasumi, and I'm kinda disappointed I burned points on xbox live for her. She's pretty much useless in a fight (she dies all the time), and I find her whole character annoying. Was it just some way for bioware to pander to anime junkies?

I wish, other than her advert asking if shep likes japanese, there's nothing there that marks her as anything more than female. She could be a bot for all that anyone sees of her.

Add another one to the list of people confused by posts that she dies all the time. Flashbang and shadow strike are good powers. Shadow strike, like a drone, turns enemies around. My soldier Shepard unloads on the target during that time.

She dies a lot for me as well. The trick is to make sure you direct her to cover after she returns from a shadow strike. If you put her in cover, she will stay there. Once she performs a shadow strike, she will move around and get killed fast.

I have noticed most teammates move around and die unless you direct them to take cover somewhere. So if she performs a shadow strike as directed by you or as the AI using the powers, she will most likely be killed in short order.

The other time is if she gets caught in crossfire while performing the shadow strike and can't make it back. I still think Kasumi is a very useful squad member.

I think a lot of people forget that sometimes you have to redirect their squadmates back to cover. For instance, Kasumi will perform her Shadow Strike, return to cover, and then proceed to break cover if you don't redirect her. And sometimes I'll tell my snipers to stay put, but for whatever reason, something breaks that directive and I have to direct them to cover again. You can't just give the command and then forget about your squadmates.

^^^Yeah shadow strike is pure win but seems a little too strong.

I love Kasumi though. Way more interesting that Zaeed or Jacob will ever be!

I think she definitely has her uses. Clearly some of the dudes here have figured better ways of utilising Shadow Strike, but frankly I see it as way more trouble than it's actually worth. People describe it as a turbo-charged version of Drone but ultimately, I find it to be little more than a headache inducer as I have to babysit her once it's been fired off. Tali is still waaaay more effective a character for the tech/disruption role.

The Character herself is pretty cool once loyalty has been obtained, though. The combo of Overload and Flashbang are very effective on blue suns/geth missions.
