I've created a new level and set some baked lights. I've rendered lightmaps and everything went well, except the baked lights doesn't have any color. It looks a bit like the default lighting in the level editor. They're gray for some reason. Static lights work though.

Yes. I've tried dark red and higher intensity, but nothing works.

check your lights. accidently a while ago i've placed an ambient baked light instead of normal baked light. also you could delete all the .erf files, the and area layout folder within toolset/lvlworkspace and the area layout folder within toolset/lightprobes at mydocuments.

sometimes lightmaps are just corrupt. right now i also got such an issue and can't get rid of. thousands of dark black dots are messing up my indoor level.

semper, im not sure those two deletes are enough, did you try all of the following (im sure some are unnecessary, but this fix worked for me once when just deleting the erf and workspace was not enough)

My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Toolset\\LvlWorkspace\\lightmaps\\LAYOUT
My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Toolset\\ProbeLightMaps\\LAYOUT
My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Toolset\\resourcepostintermediatewin32\\processed\\addins\\MODULE\\layouts\\win32\\layouts\\LAYOUT
My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Toolset\\resourcepostintermediatewin32\\processed\\addins\\MODULE\\layouts\\win32\\modelhierarchies\\LAYOUT
My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Toolset\\resourcepostintermediatewin32\\processed\\addins\\MODULE\\layouts\\win32\\textures\\dds\\LAYOUT
(path of your level file)\\LAYOUT.erf
(path of your level file)\\LAYOUT.bak.erf

EDIT: hmm, i actually have just got the tiny black dots myself now semper. Not sure whats causing them but the result is that the lightmap dds are extremely noisy. I'm thinking it may simply be a case of batch processing them through photoshop to remove noise before releasing build. added to my troubleshoot: http://bg2redux.stud...overmylightmaps

(sorry to wander off-topic)

and Dewkl - can you share up your lvl file? im happy to take a look and see if i can see anything obvious.

hmm actually dewkl, have you posted your layout to local? you should try removing all of your exported files...
My Documents\\\\BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\addins\\\\MODULE\\\\core\\\\override\\\\toolsetexport\\\\LAYOUT

and then restart your toolset and relightmap.

My lightmaps generally get more and more corrupted as I re-render them. I can usually fix it by deleting literally everything that has to do with that level (except your .lvl obviously), including lightmaps, and rendering everything/posting.

Basically, delete:
- Your level .erf and it's backup
- Your entire tools/lvlworkspace directory
- Your User/AppData/Local/Temp/DALightmap directory
- Your toolsetexport directory for that level layout
- Your .arl for that level

I usually do this by using Vista search for my layout name and deleting everything that turns up (and i've named it differently than my .lvl or my .are, that way i don't accidentally delete 'good' files).

That may get rid of your issues, but it's not guaranteed. Honestly the lightmapper seems a bit random. I'll get those purple blotches at different places if I re-render my lightmaps without changing my level at all.

Forgot to mention I fixed this yesterday. I just deleted the .erf's as semper said and it worked fine the next render.

i tried every possible solution but nothing works. also deleted all files but my lvl... still no better output. dunno what this is causing. and i think that is too much noise to reduce it with photoshop :D first i thought it's just way too dark but there is also no different outcome if i place a very bright baked light there to recalculate the lightmap - the dots stay unchanged -.-

aye thats pretty noisy. if you were to reduce the noise aggressively, you'd risk losing other features. tough call - i dont envy you :(

its not going to be long before we start painting the lightmaps ourselves lol.
