I am prepared for the n00b-stick on this one, but humility requires I ask.

I successfully added a variant to Statue, Tevinter 2, found in the placeable_types worksheet. I needed one that would have a conversation, so I just need to change the StateController to StateCnt_Puzzle. But to do that I added a line at the bottom of Placeables.xls, and generated a GDA from that.

But I don't wanna gen a whole new set of GDAs for that one simple extension.  I want to do the M2DA approach.  But there isn't a prefix for placeables, such as the "ANIM_" for animations, or "BITM_" for items.

So how does one extend placeables.xls using the M2DA approach?

Make a worksheet named placeable_types_(yoursuffix) in the placeables.xls with only the row id that you added. That will become the M2DA

Ah, so in this case it is not a separate spreadsheet, but a new worksheet inside of the core game's placeables.xls?  Hmm,  would I still need to generate new .gda files, and place them in my module's override folder?

Thanks for the reply ladydesire.

you can put it in any xls you like... the gda is generated using the name of the worksheets the xls file name is irrelevant). Once the GDas are made and placed in override folder, the game will append any core GDA if it comes across a GDA with the same name and a suffix. so, in this case, an xls file with just one worksheet named placeable_types_yoursuffix, once processed the GDA will be appended to the placable_types GDA. If any of your IDs overlap with the placeable_types GDA, yours will get priority.

To make the GDAs from your xls, be sure to use the excelprocessor.
