So..yeah I did some denerim quests, from the back alleys, the deserted building, however how the hell do i get out of denerim back into the world =/

Go to the market district and go back to the entry/exit point in the corner from where you first entered the city. When that takes you to the city map screen click on the scroll icon at the bottom of that map window to get the world map.
