... if only because of this:

Who knows who else will that Ogre get his hands on!

EDIT: This is what happens when you rush to conclusions after only five minutes of playing... the DLC is utter garbage.

Any explanation why he is there? Codex entry or something?

Yeah, there's a codex called 'The People of Ferelden'. I guess Alistair spared his life in return for help from the Blight.

I just finished the game (like, literally 30 seconds ago, the credits are rolling). it was... interesting. I have to admit, I was a little pissed when 'Kill the Arl' popped up as a quest because I was really hoping it was Eamon I got to kill, but Howe will do.

The codex entry is vague at best, basically saying a human is attacking you. I haven't finished the game yet (I only played until Howe showed up). It certainly seems light on story and heavy on beating the crap out of everything.

And who'd ever thought the Darkspawn would also have an approval system?!?!

There are short explainations under the codex entries (which are few and far between, to be honest) that explain the people you will.

~*MASSIVE SPOILERAGE BELOW*~

You get to fight other characters like Ser Cautherin, and her codex entry states that she never trusted Alistair, but decided to put aside her dislike to end the Blight. Bann Teagan, who you kill in the marketplace, is taking Eamon's place since the Ashes were never found, as noted in Ser Perth's entry. The entries vary, and the differences can be startling. Wynne shows up with Cullen and Gregoir, and apparently they were her 'companions' for her trip. Morrigan's talks about how she openly mocked Alistair for the entire trip, Barkspawn is Alistair's dog, Zevran actually isn't travelling with the party, etc.

Uuhh...seeing how I get to kill Howe in every playthrough in the normal game, I don't see this as a major selling point.

Loghain's name never pops up, and since Alistair is king, I'm assuming he had him executed.

I actually don't remember if the other creatures had a codex. Lemme reload and see if there's anything there.

True, but now you get to kill him in a different way... that's good enough for me.

What I've got so far:

Under the 'People of Ferelden' entry:

Ser Cautherin

Bann Ceorlic

Cullen

Goldanna

Gorim

Knight-Commander Gregoir

Arl Rendon Howe

Kardol

Ser Landry (who, incidently, challenged Alistair to a duel and roundly got his ass kicked by him, lol)

Ser Perth

Riordan

Sanga

Bann Teagan

Vaughan

Master Wade (no separate codex entry for Herren, but he's mentioned with Wade)

Separate characters:

Oghren (who looks like he was never recruited, instead staying at the Gnawed Noble Tavern)

Sten (no way of telling if he fought with Alistair or merely stayed behind, cookies get a mention)

Wynne (no way of telling if she stayed with Alistair or came separately, but her staying with Gregoir and Cullen suggests otherwise)

Zevran (Alistair let him go after he tried to kill him and Zevran hid in the Denerim Alienage)

The Golem entry appears to be not much different than the one you get in the original game.

So are there any cutscenes or anything when you kill off a companion?

I love my Shriek! :'D
The cutie killed Wynne, seems like she couldn't heal fast enough.

I just walked into the Alienage..
Where are the Blight Wolves (big fan of wolves in general), I want one, it will look nice next to my Shriek? o.o

Edit; because writing 'wolves' and 'wolfs' in the same sentence doesn't make sense. -.-'

The werewolf entry pops up in the codex, but it doesn't state why they're there, it seems to be the generic entry from the original game.

Only for Alistair.

Just refinished the game, that appears to be all the codex entries. Leliana doesn't have one for some reason. :/

I want to see Alistair run through. I was waiting, thinking that the Alistair thread would be spammed and now I actually want to see it. Make it so.

That's the one reason I hesitate to purchase this DLC.  I do NOT want to see Alistair run through.  I've tried talking one of my friends with less emotional committment into playing this for me so I can get the sword, but even he (who laughed about Alistair becoming a hopelss drunk and took glee in killing him as his one true love) will not do this for me.  I guess I'll just wait for a nice modder out there to create a moid that will import the item. (Heavy sigh):(

He's not run through, but it's a fairly brutal finishing move- something I'd expect to see in Gears of War.

I don't know. This universe's Alistair is not the one I'm familiar with, so I didn't feel too bad, surprisingly. It felt something like a mercy kill for a broken man. :/ He chose to save the Anvil, side with the Templars, killed the elves... poor Templar.

And romance Leliana:sick:

Just kidding, don't hit me! I bruise easily:P

I may be the only Alistair fangirl who thinks this way, but I honestly do not give a flying **** that he was boffing Leliana. I expected it, actually, and it doesn't bother me. My PC doesn't exist. Leliana and Alistair have some flirtacious banter in the main game and Leliana can admit that she finds him attractive.

Who cares? It's an alternate universe.

I know what you mean. I'm not looking forward to killing Leliana... when she pops up I'll just separate my general from the pack so I don't have to fight her directly. Everyone else is fair game though.

What is the amount playtime on this DLC? 30 minutes? Less or more?
