The people who work on the patches are not the same people who work on additional content. If people protest en masse by not purchasing DLC, all you are doing is sending the message that DLC isn't financially worthwhile for them to produce. Thats why I buy all DLC. Even if it's not something particularly exciting to me, I am showing support for the continued release of DLC for Dragon Age.

Yeah, let's buy inferior products in blind loyalty. :pinched:

If good DLC sells and bad DLC doesn't, then it sends a necessary message.

Not saying Darkspawn Chronicles is bad DLC, btw. Just not my cup of tea, I don't like playing the bad guys.

I don't think I have ever in my life purchased anything I did not want or like in order to get a company to produce something I did want or like. Makes no sense to me.  You can spend your money however you choose as is your right but if you are buying something that you don't enjoy you are telling the company that you do enjoy it and want more of it.
They already know that only the most passionate people come to these forums so they are only getting a small sample of those who loveit/hate it. And in no way can they base any future DLC on the comments made here. But they can base future DLC on how well sales of particular DLC did or did not do. So please continue to buy DLC that you don't like.
To those of you who do enjoy this DLC please do not take offense my message it is not directed at you, I for one am happy that you are getting something that you enjoy. Kill away:)!

I have to say that for 5 bucks the ability to crush Allistair with an ogre is worth the money. Watching Morrigan get squished like a ketsup packet was probably one of the best things about DSC, knowing that she was not getting up after the battle was most excellent. I actually controlled the ogre as he was working the **** over, her screams of pain were just delightful, no greater music have i heard, well except this one Phish concert i went to, but that was years ago and drugs were probably involved.

To the gentle folks at Bioware i know you are going to have quite a bit of fan rage over the DSC, boycotts, whinning and such, i would just like to say thanks for having the courage to satisfy our urges to slaughter our most annoying characters whether they be Leliana,Sten, Oghren, Tegan, Wynne, Allistair or especially Morrigan, (sorry if i left anyone out).

I really enjoyed the DSC except for a few minor details, I would have preffered to have been allowed to pick my Vanguard class, either mage, warrior or rogue, also being able to select a few spells and tweak thier talents would have been nice. I guess you can not have everything and it WAS REALLY satisfying to squish a few heads (looks at Allistair and Morrigan) that was worth 5 bucks to me.

Thanks
Asai

Awesome. Image IPB I still don't know if I'll end up getting it but I'm actually curious about it now. On the bolded part: Seriously awesome, except it'd be Leliana in my case.
This universe's Alistair's choices are the same ones I've had a few of my characters choose at one point or the other as well, but he doesn't have the PC's death-defying charms it seems.

No, Wade is just.. acting like he is praying.
I used my Herlock Archer to shoot them, but I got 'miss' most of the time (some of the time I got nothing, the arrows just disappear). Using Hurl on them has also no effect.

The DLC was great, killing the compagnions was fun and in some cases very satisfying. *glares at Wynne*
Controlling the Shriek and Ogre was definitely the coolest part, because their skills are new and interesting, the rest of your team are just 'normal' warriors and mages. If anyone can make a mod that creates a Ranger Shriek Pet or that turns Dog in a Shriek I would be very grateful. :P

I'm still going for the 'thrall approvement trophy' but it is a lot of work, there are 8 thrall classes and most of them are really annoying to keep in the team because they are pretty weak. x.x

No, Wade is just.. acting like he is praying.

It's the "afraid" stance, like what's-his-name in Soldier's Peak who stands around in the way and cringes while you're fighting.

It's not an "Alistair" choice, it's "werewolves and golems are tougher enemies so Alistair sided with the werewolves and golems."  Nothing is story-based, so nothing has to make sense.

I hate a few of the NPC companions, but killing them as a darkspawn and in such a cartoonish setting was just lame, not satisfying.

It was Herren for me.  And I would hypothesize that Herren's desire for escape was so great, it punched a hole in the Veil and allowed a demon to possess him.

EDIT @ Sarah
Oh yeah, most definitely.  Herren sprouts a rack and erects a big blue barrier that prevents you from killing Wade.  That sounds like I'm joking but I'm not.  I wish I got a screenshot.

Funny thing is, my hurlock vanguard was actualy standing on their side of the barrier when the desire demon revealed itself and eercted the barrier. They were immune to all his attacks.

I don't think it was Herren's desire to escape. I think it's more likely that there was something dodgey about their relationship all along.

I also think that since this DLC isn't canon, Herren being a desire demon is an in joke at how obviously camp the two of them are (and how there clearyl is something unconventional about their relationship).

Agreed. It's just ****ing funny. Simple as. People need to stop ****ing about every single thing.

My two cents for what it's worth.

I enjoyed the dang thang. It was a nice little shooter in the Dragon Age World. Nothing more. But it was what is was.

Don't sweat whether or not it makes sense - it doesn't have. Just go kill things. That's basically all the plot - and that's fine, as long as it doesn't promise to be more (which, in my (never) humble opinion it did not ;).

It took me about 2 hours to play - but that's because I like to go everywhere, kill all these little pockets of people that can be left alone on a fast run through.

I just have one question. For the trophy about getting every type of Darkspawn to really like you - is that generic - ie one genlock, one hurlock, etc. Or do you need to get the subgroups as well - ie hurlock, hurlock emissary, hurlock archer, etc.?

You need one of each type.

The list, more or less in order: Hurlock, Genlock, Ogre, Shriek, Hurlock Emissary, Blightwolf.

So you don't need a 'hurlock archer' and a 'genlock archer'?

I don't have the trophy yet, but I thought the list was:
- Ogre
- Shriek
- Emissary
- Hurlock
- Genlock
- Hurlock Archer
- Genlock Archer
- Blightwolf

@Costin, the Blightwolves join you in the palace district and during the Alistair fight.

So the two toughest parts of the DLC? Sigh. Oh well, good thing I get a save just before Alistair fight.

Ramante: No. My list is correct. I maxed influence with a stupid genlock one-hander I picked up, and the hurlock I maxed with was a dual-wielder. Weapons don't matter. Just the creature's nametag.

And correct, blightwolves only spawn in the palace district or after.

There's actually an infinite respawn of dwarves after the big stairs with the gate in the palace district, before you move on to the final boss of that area. You can kill them ad nauseum for approval points. You can do the same in the market district, though it's slower.

The only thing I would want fixed is the frame rate.

The "upgrade" I'd like is a little cut scene to let me know when I'm gonna kill a "hero". I whacked Oghren and didn't even know it.

Not very satisfied with this. I was hoping for at least a little bit of insight into the darkspawn or at least a small tease of their origins (or a hint of some kind of hidden nature to them), but this really doesn't add anything to the series that we haven't seen before. The whole "What if...?" scenario feels forced to me.

The only thing that comes even close to surprising is the revelation that Herren is a desire demon. This could indicate that it and wade are in some sort of unique demon/human relationship that will allow them to become the recurring shopkeepers in the series no matter how much time passes in the DA universe between installments. It's no secret that demons can grant immortality.
