The Darkspawn Chronicles is officially worth it.... NO IT'S NOT!

Have 0 interest in a DLC that's only hack-and-slash. And with darkspawn. No rolepalying there really...
I guess there are people out there who will pay $$$ just so they can kill characters they harbor unreasonable hate for. Luckily, I'm not one of them.

I would have also really liked a better cutscene at the end of the fight - something showing the city or even the nation being overrun by Darkspawn - as it was the ending was too sudden and lacked proper dramatic effect. (though I did enjoy gutting Alistair)
As to the topic of killing people you liked from your previous games - I just reminded myself that this character had no attachment to these people and so wouldn't hesitate to do so; before reminding myself, though, I was very hesitant to kill Leliana and she ended up being the last party member I felled, even after Alistair.

P.S. my Shriek pinned and killed Leliana before I noticed that so she was the first victim of final battle.

If they showed that then you'd have an unwinnable level right there.Siradix wrote...
They skipped the entire castle scene. I wanted to see Sandal fighting off the darkspawn.

If Duncan and his beard can be taken down, so can Sandal.

I got Stone Prisoner for free and RtO for the same price as DC. I play those every game and use the gear every game. I played this DLC through once and don't care to ever play it again, and the sword is ugly and underwhelming, besides which you get scads of swords in the regular game. So I don't consider it worth the price at all.Lord Gremlin wrote...
What can I say - it's worth the price. Don't forget that it's very, very cheap. Well, and thats an authentic Hurlock Vanguard experience. Darkspawn are stupid, violent and expendable. It's also nice to see what would have happened if your hero from DAO didn't save the world.

This is another thing I hate about the DLC. It forces our PCs to be complete Mary Sues. <_<Asdara wrote...
I basically just saw the whole thing as a confirmation that if my warden hadn't been there to play "what can I do for you?" world version that the archdemon would have made Ferelden his personal litterbox.
Not surprising.

Edit: I know HN, at least, do have other things they could be doing.

(well 3 if you include the fact that I named the shriek "Mr. Bubbles". Weed and DLC don't mix)
1. Punching the hell out of Morrigan
2. Killing Alistair for hitting on Leliana
Now if only I could kill Isolde and Goldanna

But what about the power of Enchantment? Also: beards are overestimated.Siradix wrote...

BTW I think I've killed Goldana on Market District. You kill pretty much all NPCs from Market District (if you wait long enough and explore every bit of it, as they run out of houses), except for Master Wade who teleports with his pet Desire Demon (which leads to strange and uncomfortable questions about Awakening).
I got SP and RtO same way as you did, and I must say that RtO is much shorter than DC, and zombie-ogre aside has next to no new elements. In DC you actually get to control all Darkspawn warriors and use their abilities. Walking around as an ogre is a nice experience.Addai67 wrote...

I'm ASHAMED!!
Seriously, I was relatively green during the days I created this abomination. I also hated Loghain and Anora at that time...
*hides in shame*
Which reminds of the other abomination of a thread I created around this time, complaining about Anora's rallying speech. I remember KoP being not amused by it...
