Is a 1.04 or 1.03a scheduled anytime? I just can't buy Awakening or this DLC so long as this problem is not fixed; since they require 1.03 and up...
Thanks for any enlightment

An official word on this would be cool, even something like "We aknowledged the issues and are doing research in order to fix them. Expect a new patch in the upcoming months".]When it's done...
At least we would know that they still intend to release patches.

Apparently after months of not even bothering to talk to the community about it, they are "looking into it".hellodie wrote...

Hey, remember when BioWare used to have vaguely competent support, and actually talked to their fans about things, rather than just shamelessly promoting the next paid add-on that doesn't even seem to work for some users? Yeah, that was nice...

I bought the DLC and then had to get a Robin Hood version of it to actually get the files.
Way to go Bioware.
Incidentally, DC is *utter* rubbish and the last DLC I'm ever buying from them. I adore their complete, standalone titles but they've made a dreadful mockery of the DLC Business.
Chronicles has at least one broken quest ("Slaughter the Innocents" with random triggers anyone?) and is NOTHING but dumbed down frustrating combat. Quite on par with that Pinnacle Station fiasco for Mass Effect.
This is simply a waste of time, money and effort.
I miss the good old days when games got ONE expansion and it meant something.
Now it seems I've paid the value of an expansion pack to get a few dinky items and some iffy gameplay that I could have done without.
Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice...

I'm not going to delve into the industrialization and dehumanization of video games topic

It's a hell of a fun DLC and quite challenging in Nightmare. 400 points well spent. (5 bucks is NOT the price of an expansion pack or add-on. Just a fun short DLC and quite worthy it) Watch my vids on a nearby topic for fun or if undecided on getting the DLC. That might help.

If I manually install the DSC DLC, do I still have to authorized it to play it? I don't have an internet connection at home.
How do you download it if you don't have internet?

Version 1.03 does awful things to many people (very frequent game crashes, sometimes to the point it's not worth playing).

My sentiments exactly.

Fool me twice...
...and you're easily fooled? Apparently so. The 'Slaughter the Innocents' quest is not trigger-based at all. It starts when someone in your party kills a civilian. If you let uncontrolled darkspawn from the horde do all the killing then you will not get the quest. Only YOU can start the quest and it only counts civilians that YOU kill.
People who claim to have refused to do this quest because it is immoral or outside their nature are full of it. If they received the quest at all then it means they already killed one innocent person. The quest just gives incentive to turn a murder into a massacre.

Cause accidentally killing a civilian in the heat of battle could NEVER happen, in real life or a game, eh?

I just want to verify that you are all running the latest update, version 1.03, which should have resolved most of the issues which would cause you to get stuck downloading (and is also required to play Darkspawn Chronicles).
Otherwise, I am keeping an eye on this thread to see if the issue persists or becomes more widespread.
Please make the Dragon Age Updater Service die. I hate it... so much...
I finally got my stuff working with this thread, but it shouldn't have been necessary.
