Hi Bioware,

   I have recently purchased points and as such used them to purchase the new "Darkspawn Chronicles" DLC for my game registration.  Now Blightblood for Origins and Awakening went in okay, but as far as DC itself, it has been installed, but I have "Unauthorized" displaying in the bottom right of the rectangle display in downloaded content.

   To me, this is impossible.  I went through your site to purchase this, and all 3 items for the DLC shows as registered under my profile, so it is not by any means "unauthorized" .  I have even been logged in for 10 minutes now in the game itself, and it still hasn't authorized my DLC.  What's going on?

And on a side note, it seems my "Bulwark of the True King" shield for Origins is now "Unauthorized" as well! But when I go back in, it's not displaying anymore, so I suspect in bug. What is going on?!?

Well, anyway, I've just started uninstalling & deleting files &registries for DA, so I'll see what happens after this.

I have the same problem. At first it was only the darkspawn chronicles but after som restarts, the other DLC that worked before is also "unauthorized". I only use one account so that is not the problem. I also tested to purchase again but it says that it's finished downloading and it will install after restart. I have restarted many times.
I also got a message about servers and couldnt get my online profile storage? maybe it doesnt have anything to do with the dlc. well I will go to sleep and test again tomorrow, maybe it will fix itself or something

There's a program running in the background called DragonAge-ContentUpdater that's supposed to verify the DLC you have installed.

However, most of the time this program doesn't start on its own (although it should once you launch Dragon Age) and when that happens your DLC remains unauthorized, which also means that you can't load any saves of games that include any kind of DLC content.

What you could do now is to use (on Vista) "run"  from the Start menu and then type services.msc

This will open a window where you can see all the programs running in the background. Now search for the DragonAge-ContentUpdater and try to start it manually. If it does start, lucky you, when it doesn't, well then you will know how I feel right now.

To be honest, that goddamn program has never worked properly and I'm definitely not purchase any DragonAge DLC anymore....what's to point of buying something when you're pretty much denied using it?

I have the same problem, but I can access all the dlc's if I play as logged out.

My achievement's does not get updated here...but I guess that is not such a big loss since I can play the game.



Unfortunately I just purchased darkspawn chronicles like 10 minutes ago and it does not appear at all - not as "available content" or as downloaded.

I got a reciet in my email that I did buy so I guess I'll just wait a while and see before I go complaining.



And yes, when I check if I can download it I am online on my account.

I just make sure that I am not while playing so my DLC's doesn't get unauthorized

I find that making sure that DAOriginsConfig is defined as a trusted application in my firewall makes the Unauthorized Content message go away. Maybe it'll help you.

I also have this problem. It is acting weird since downloading; my download progress went up to 139% then it log me out. When I log in again the Darkspawn Chronicles became unauthorized. The screen also show that I can still buy another Darkspawn Chronicles.



My online account already said I purchased Darkspawn Chronicles.

I had the same problem and finally found a fix u can try to rename or move Profile.dap in my documents/bioware/settings and it will force the game to make a new one it will redownload your online achievements and hopefully authorize the dlc it did for me any

Thank you! It was so frustrating, after finally getting it to download (it was sitting at 0% for hours) it declared it unauthorized. Renaming Profile.dap fixed it.

A MOD NEEDS TO STICKY THIS FIX!!! IT IS COMFIRMED MANY TIMES AND IT TOOK ME THREE HOURS TO FIND!!!

Yep, I unistalled the whole thing, then reinstalled the game & DLC. Problem no more

I have the same problem. I have only one account but when i try to start the game it says it's the wrong account and that is just impossible!!! I did exactly what it said on the whole how to install, but it's just not there. I'm starting to get frustrated about this whole thing. Another thing I have bought the dlc darkspawn chronicle and intalled it. Then i started the game and looked at available content and there it said i had to buy it.......and at the installed section it says it's "Unauthorized".

See the solutions round up thread pinned to the top of this forum. If those solutions do not work or are more complicated than you feel up to trying, there is a beta patch (1.05) that resolves the authorization issues but can result in long load times. The load time issue is being worked on, but it is still there. The thread containing all of the patch information is also pinned to the top of this forum. If you need help beyond those two threads, see the Read First Before Posting thread pinned to the top of this forum. (or try the half dozen possible solutions in this thread)

The solution to your problem exists in or is linked in a dozen posts on the first page of this forum alone. My best guess based on very tiny amount of data you provided is that you either are not running the game with administrator privileges, have firewall/antivirus software that is blocking the game from communicating with the server or have special characters in your password.  Again, all of these things are listed in the solutions round up thread pinned to the top of the forum. (beating this particular dead horse to death a few extra times because 99% of the help provided here consists of repeatedly directing people to those same threads that Raen did such a good job of compiling and I am hoping that the next person to unearth this particular corpse will simply go looking for them)
