No. You can do it in two.

As far as I'm aware, you can only do it in 2 once you have already reached level 60 with another character, thus getting the 5% extra exp.

I should know since I'm OCD about doing everything, and I only reached level 58 (or maybe 59) in 2 playthroughs without the 5% exp bonus for the Extreme Power Gamer achievement.

Untrue; I got to level 60 (just barely, mind you) on 2 run throughs (first run ended up on level 51) after I made certain that I got all of the collection quests completed and did not use the Mako to kill very often when on a quest where I could have used it (like, say, Feros). I can't remember if I'd done BDtS for the second run, though I am certain I never completed Pinnacle Station.

Now that I think about it, I do believe I didn't refrain from Mako kills on the first playthrough.

I did it on 2 playthrough without having a level 60 already, and without pinnacle

But you have to avoid killing stuff from inside the mako, cuz there's an insane loss of xp.

For big targets like Thresher maws you can still hurt them, and finish the job on foot.

Yea I noticed that. That is what I did on my 2nd playthrough and on. Now I always kill at LEAST high priority enemies (Geth Colossi, Geth Armatures, THresher Maws, etc.) on foot. I may or may not kill smaller enemies on foot.

Obviously on my file that is already level 60, kills don't really matter that much.

Anyway, i'm not sure that importing a level 60 character is worth it ,even if that is not the subject.

You gain something like 5 levels at start with +100k credits and +10k resources, if i'm right.

Maybe, maybe not. But you will still want at least one level 60, so you can level faster in ME1, so you can import a proper character into ME2.

Even if it's like five levels, it's worth something, especially if you want to greatly challenge yourself in insanity on an ME1 import.

And I got so close to getting level 60 on one playthrough. Just made it to Level 56 when it ended... I had to find all minerals/Insignia/ID tags/Prothean discs for every single place, and finished off most higher opponents without Mako.

Be careful here.

There's a HUGE amount of XP from the level 56 to the level 60.

You need more XP than you already had to reach the level 56

Needs 406 000 XP to reach level 56

Needs 862 000 XP to reach level 60

Permit me to kick the tires of this older thread rather than start one for a minor and related question:

I know Level 60 requires two playthroughs - I've done Completionist runs enough times to be 100% certain of that, including the time in which the ONLY things I destroyed with the Mako were the three gate turrets on Therum. That doesn't worry me. What I'm curious about is how much of the game you NEED to do the first time to make sure you hit 60 on a Completionist run the second time. Considering this playthrough is only so I'm not weirded out by the voice coming from the wrong face (having found a code I like) in ME2, I'm not terribly invested in scouring the Traverse for minerals if I don't have to. Can I get by with just the Plot Planets, end-game run, Wrex & Garrus' unfinished business, and the Armstrong Geth for the first run, or is it really only possible if you do everything both times?

I think you pretty much have to do everything, except maybe the mineral and alien item finder quests. You also must pretty much kill everything on foot, but once you get close to 60 this is easier anyway, since you should be stronger than the MAKO anyway.

I completed everything on my first playthrough apart from one of the mineral assignments, no dlc and no geth data (tali pilgramage). On my second playthrough I hit level 60 shortly after being made a spectre. I did have another lvl 60 on my h/d, but I am sure you dont have to complete 2 playthroughs (at 100%) to acheive lvl60. I definately got the lvl60 ach'mnt after 1 and a bit playthroughs........
