As the title says, I cannot connect for online play. I have just been practicing single player over the weekend due to this, but desperatley wish to play online.
So, my setup is a direct2drive downloaded pre-ordered account bound to this account... Yet, when I type in my online info in-game, I'm told that I'm not connected/not online. I have a 20mbit cable line running through a d-link wireless router and have *never* experienced any issues playing anygame online, which have been many.

I mean since It keeps not even giving me the chance to login due to say I'm "Not Online" annoying... *xigh*

The online part of the game does two things. It authorises your DLC ( it's DRM, your account has to be checked to 'switch on' your DLC (but not all of it).
Then the other part of online is linked to your social account here. It allows you to record tour progress, upload your achievements and screenshots. This information then becomes available in your profile so that everyone else can see at which point you got so frustrated with all the bugs and started another character.

If you're using Vista, go to help.dragonage.com, click on "advanced search" and try suggestions in topic 10. That worked for me. There are other solutions buried in these forums.

yes I'm running vista 64bit, see problem being is that I cannot even attenot ti sign in for my pre-order items since it dosen't give me the "Login" opfion even with my info typed into the in game login...

I had your same problem, though I was running 32-bit Vista. And then today, it magically let me log in. I don't know if it's because something changed after I did a full system reboot, or if the EA servers were down and now they're up, or what. Regardless, the game could give a better error message.
