A women named Michelle Franklin recently made a book called the Sten and the Warden. Normally I'm not a all that crazy about fan fiction, but due to Franklin's hilarious "Ask the Sten" series, based on letters from fans, I decided to give it a shot.

It is INCREDIBLE!!

The Sten and the Warden is a Dragon Age epilouge,  when the player finished the Dark Ritual, put our dear friend Alitstair on the throne, and traveled with Sten to Seheron. The Warden herself, is smart alecy, quick-witted, and very entertaining as she pushes Sten over the limit. (and survives! La-gasp!) The author tried her best to keep to the original lore of Dragon Age, and the whole thing (characters and all) is a very believable ending to the game. We're hoping an increase in popularity will help with publishing, so here's hoping!! :innocent:

I finished the first two books and wanted to read another so a friend recommend that one to me. I finished it in two days. Me and my friend octavian love Ask the Sten. How do I get copy of that book?

Mmm... you could talk to the author, she may have some extra copies although I really couldn't say. There aren't many copies out at the moment since it's not official.

I'm suprised that not BioWare them self acknowledge the book. It really captures who Sten is!
btw: if any one says anything bad about this book, I'll find them myself and turn them into toads...

Every time I try to download it, my Microsoft Word doesn't convert the novel, and I can't read it. I've tried downloading it 4 times.

Anyway to get around that? I've tried to convert it to a different language, but it just comes up as a jumbled up mess of symbols.

maybe a mass write in to BioWare would be nice to get them to maybe publish it? afterall a high enough demand and you'd think they may listen.

Agreed, on all fronts. I downloaded the book the sec I saw it and 'wholly' crap, it was great! I started following the second book too and it's so far really awesome: ambush in the castle, morrigan whooshing in, leliana made to assassinate Alistair-- I'm dying till the next one is up.



Ask the Sten is hilarious. The new one about ice cream made me laugh so hard I cried.



Two thumbs up. Three even.

According to the description in the project you should save this file (or rename after downloading) with extension .pdf rather than .doc. It should be then possible to open the resulting file with Acrobat Reader.

Have you tried here account on DA? It's MeibastuRen. You can find her profile here -->http://meibatsuren.deviantart.com/

If you download from there, it'll probably open open up on a seperate tab. (that's what it does when I download from DA anyways. >.>)

As for language, I'm afraid I don't know what to do about that. Sorry!

That's what I was thinking. A increase in popularity would really go a long way.

OR you can even just click the website button in the project. It turns the book into an HTML so you can read it on any computer.

I read parts of it at work on really slow days. Really made the boring days so much more epic.

I've read all of it - it is much entertaining The author has a great imagination!

The second part (book) shows a great promise as well - especially with Leliana's order to assasinate Alistair.

Agreed. She updates her new book about once every few days. I don't know how she writes so much. And it's good quality. Ask the Sten everyday, new book-- geez I feel so lazy next to that author.

I was told she printed a few copies of the book for fun. Any idea where we can get our grubby hands on those? The digital download is nice but I like the feeling of a book. And I'd really like to read chapter 25 on paper LOL:O

I'd pay 30$ for this. I'm impressed that someone wrote a full novel about Sten.

Just got up to chapter 25. Can't wait to go home so I can read it.

I start to read the second book, qunari alliance. Already I love it. I recommend to those who haven't seen it yet

I've read everything she has out so far, and I'm loving it all. The interactions between Sten and the Warden are incredibly fun to read, and the battle scenes flow smoothly from one p.o.v. to another. Highly recommended!

Is true she write third series with the Qunari on Seheron? I look everywhere for this one but cannot find it. Anyone know where it can be read?
