why do you think cryo ammo is the only ammo type that you can't gain from your squad?

I believe you're wrong, at least in the places that matter, but I'm not going to start counting them. At any rate, "elites only" was far from accurate.

Elites are a step above minion level. All the ones I listed are elites or better. So elites is an accurate description. As for blue suns. For every blue suns leutenant or better you have at least 1 or 2 regular troopers with them. That means at minimum, 50% of the baddies are regular troopers, but it's probably greater.

I think you need to look up "elite" in the dictionary. It doesn't mean "one step above the bottom". Unless there is some codex entry or something giving an in-game definition that supercedes the plain English meaning of the word...

Huh? You're assuming bottom here means sewer rats. Elite means better than your average grunt. A luitenant is someone in charge of the grunts like a blue suns commander. Then you have the named guys who are usually the boss or sub-boss. Those are pretty much the classic ways to rank enemies.

Now you're just arguing semantics. I thought this was about how large a proportion of enemies have protection on Veteran.

This game has mooks, elites and bosses. Mooks are just standard enemies. Elites are the Legionnaires, Guardians, Vanguards, Krogan etc that are tougher than standard enemies. Bosses are anything that has two layers of protection.

Call them whatever you like, but you're just calling a rose another name...

Okay, if those are the accepted names then thanks for letting me know.

Funnily enough, though, the debated statement "only elites" is still inaccurate. According to your definitions, it should have said "only elites and bosses". That would have been a lot less confusing.

This is the same guy that argued in the campaign forum that he doesn't like Kasumi because of the way she looks and that her personality is toxic to him with absolutely no objective evidence and never having even purchased the DLC. Fairly pointless to keep responding tbh.

What? Kasumi has a personality!?

I'm sorry if my opinion of Kasumi upset your delicate fanboy feelings, but don't you think that besmirching my good name in other threads is a bit of an overreaction?

A good sign of a weak argument is when you start arguing over semantics and you are full of it. I'm just pointing out the obvious.

I wonder why couldn't AP ammo have any ..."secondary" effect, like momentary staggering foes or ....down right tugsteen ammo having chance to knock down unshielded foes, or staggering protected ones.

Apparently I have a penchant for saying things that spur arguments.

I consider minions to be the "troopers". Most of those I've seen on Vet or lower don't have defenses. Elites are legios, and anything else named. The fact is, and you can argue over what consitutes low level/mid level/high level enemies all you want. The OP question is why do allies not have cryo ammo....

Answer: Because on Vet or lower in creates a balancing issue. What else needs to be said? I have to be missing something here.... I guess some people just like to argue???

AP Ammo is already so good it makes Shredder Ammo pointless...

Pretty much. I mean even incendiary, which is available to 2 classes and all classes from Grunt is better due the panic effect on top of the extra damage to health.

Shredder should have been the ammo that does a big boost solely to barriers. That would've made it useful on collector missions.

Seems that making shredder the anti-barrier ammo would make it useless (or nearly so) at lower difficulties, where few enemies have protection.  Right now it's (basically) useless at high difficulties.  Seems like that ammo just can't win!

Perhaps it's shredder ammo that should have a secondary effect. Like, in addition to the direct damage bonus, it would do damage over time from bleeding wounds, and the bleeding would cause continuous pain that would make the enemy move slower or something.

That sounds fun.  Or something like the accuracy loss that some ammo had in ME1.
