To further compare, they said that Dragon Age had "9 novels of text"; they're estimating that The Old Republic will have over 40 novels worth.Mr.BlazenGlazen wrote...
my god, that is ridiculous. 300,000? I wish Mass effect had that many lines lmao

Like I said - Dragon Age had 7 years, but it was actually supposed to be released before Mass Effect 1 (October 2007).TelexFerra wrote...
Those are interesting numbers. It's shocking how few ME and ME2 have compared to DAO. More lines should have definitely been devoted to your team mates. Then maybe we'd actually feel attached to them :S
So it might be better to compare the entire Mass Effect trilogy to Dragon Age.

I think at some point they decided to make Dragon Age completely standalone - that is, none of it will be importable into Dragon Age 2. All the consequences of the Warden's actions are seen mainly at the end in what armies you have, but that's pretty much it.TelexFerra wrote...
Nah. Dragpn age was the length of one game, and it felt as such. I didn't feel like it was really two games, and the dialogue was still lacking a bit in the realm of inter-character relations.
Thus, the game had to be larger than a regular BioWare game for that reason.

If they somehow managed that, I'd be ridiculously amazed. And impressed.Jackal904 wrote...
I support any additional squadmate banter. I loved the amount in DA:O, I hope ME3 has at least as much squadmate banter as DA:O.

Don't get people's hopes up though.
The only way we're getting that kind of dialogue is if ME3 is on 3 disks.
Which I'm hoping for, actually.

Doesn't bother me none, I use Steam.

Three discs would be ****ing awesome. Then you know the game will be amazing. But then again, three discs would mean you would have to do more things in a specific order. The reason all recruitment missions aren't available in the beginning is because the game is seperated into two discs. If ME2 were on one disc you could recruit squadmates like Samara and Thane at the very beginning.
But I'm willing to sacrifice mission selection freedom for shear awesomeness

A: Modding to unlock them in the game (something Ecael has done)
B: A disc swap

Exactly, that's my point. I'm not saying ME3 would be super linear if it consisted of three discs, I'm saying it would be more linear with three discs. Of course since there should hopefully be no recruiting missions in ME3, there shouldn't be much of a problem with mission selection freedom if ME3 consisted of three discs, because most main-plot missions will occur in a specific order anyway.

That is correct. We'd have three separate "stages" where we can choose from a variety of missions to do, but we'd eventually have to complete all of them to get to the next step.Jackal904 wrote...
