So I was at Vigil's Keep, turning in some quests to Master Wade, and I happened to see this little Lilith character just standing around.  I spoke to her, and she mentioned that she was the merchant I saved and that she's set up shop at Vigil's Keep.

There are two problems, here.
1.  I never saved her.  I never even saw her before this.
2.  My "Trade Must Flow" quest did not update, and it isn't complete.  I've already recruited the other merchant.

Is there some way to fix this?  And why am I fixing a new bug every time I play this expansion?  It's driving me mad!

I played through Awakening once. Then I uninstalled it because it was buggy and it made Origins buggy too.

This topic is well known on the technical forums. I've complained a lot about it in the last 24 hours because the Darkspawn Chronicles is out and I noted that I refuse to buy it until they fix the bugs that they've known about for over 2 months now. BW can find the time to keep pumping out DLC but they aren't serious about debugging their "awesome expansion"?

Now this most recent DLC is getting the "Jumped the Shark" reviews. I think EA has officially hit the point where they won't be able to sell anymore crap - they are actually going to have to put a little effort in now. Hopefully part of that will be a patch 1.04 that fixes all the bugs in 1.03 and Awakening.

So to answer your question: my fix was to uninstall everything and just play Origins patched to 1.02. I'm not debugging their crappy product and I'm not buying anything else until they start showing some respect for their customers.

That happened to me as well, she was at Vigil's Keep before I ever met her. I continued playing and I later had the encounter where I saved Lilith. After that I went back to Vigil's Keep, talked to her again and got the quest completed.

Stupid glitch, but not game breaking.

I really have enjoyed Origins and did enjoy Awakening in terms of story/characters/gameplay. I wouldn't complain if I didn't care, but I really would like this Dragon Age franchise to keep being as good as the original product because it is a lot of fun.

Ah . . . that's good.

Warning - save before you enter The Silverite Mines (if you weren't aware of it already).  There's a bug there too that can be worked around pretty easily.

I Image IPB this opinion.  Glad to see I am not the ONLY consumer of Bioware products who thinks this way.

She's bugged in another way; she doesn't actually sell anything at VK and she's not supposed to stick around. She's really only a plot device for updating the other merchants' inventories.

Speak to her at VK, and she'll say thanks for saving her and there's a cutscene that makes it look like she's leaving VK.

When you come back to where Wade is, she'll be there again. Speak to her again and this repeats again.

That's why I call her the Merchant of the Endless Loop.

I thought she was suppose to stick around like the Amas fellow. Oh well. I'm still playing Awakenings. I enjoy it despite the bugs.

Judging from everything I've read, I was very lucky with Awakening.

I did get the "Merchant of Endless Loop" bug but aside from that one, I didn't get any other. Considering that almost every article dedicated to Awakening on the Dragon Age Wiki warns about possible bugs, I was really lucky to not experience any of them, especially the Silverite Mines one. And this having played the game twice, one with my imported character and one with a new character.

Not sure if having the Steam version of Awakening (and Origins) makes any kind of difference, but it's probably worth noting.

Back on topic, it is possible that you rescued Lilith without realizing it. I think it happens in a world map encounter where she's standing amongst several enemies. Once they're down you can talk to her or you could just exit the map, so it's possible you rescued her and simply didn't notice her. Still, that doesn't solve your other problem... out of curiosity, have you spoken to Mistress Woolsey after talking to Lilith? Not sure if that is necessary to finish the quest.

This has mostly nothing to do with the topic at hand but I'm saying it anyways. The npc Lillith is almost EXACTLY like my character, same name same hair style/color the only difference being I'm an elf with a slightly different face, so when I meet this character I am completely amazed by the resemblance. At first I thought she was an imposter sent by the nobles to sabatoge my reputation or something so I rushed back to the keep, only to find she wasn't and it was all a HUGE coincidence, and it really weirded me out every time I talked to her. So there's my stupid story :P
