Can any pls help me with this or has anyone else experienced this issue? When I do the Wending Wood quest I lose my main character's gear - it is supposed to be in a chest near the end of the stage opposite the Vendor before fighting the two thralls. I pick up me three sub character's gerar through the stage but when I get to the chest, it is completely empty!!! Pls - if anyone knows WTF is going on, pls let me know as I have some seriously decent gear that I want to keep.

yep you hit the "Silverite mines bug" which happens when you take certain DLC Items into the mines. As far as I know, you're SOL once you enter the mines and it triggers. To get your items back you will have to go to a previous save prior to entering the mines.

There IS a workaround. Before entering, go to the keep, dump ALL your gear, everyhting into the chest there (including what you are wearing and including Ser Pounce a lot) and pick up some decent stuff from Wade just outside. then go back.

Items I know cause an issue(cause they did for me) are DLC from Stone prisoner. Others have also contributed to the list with "key of the city" (there are a couple threads on this issue I think in the Awakenings subject header).

I found when my PC had fubared it up was when the initial scene with the Architect was all black around my PC, no backgroiund and she woke up in the cell completely naked (quite the humourous bug if you have Natural bodies) and everyone else was in peasant attire. if you wake up able to see the scenery around you when the Architect is talking to you then you should be alright.

Thats what I did anyway.

TYVM - will finish the Chasm quest & go do it - luckily had saved before I went in so left it as last quest area to do.

Nods. I had to strip down just before I entered the Silverite Mine. I was nekked when the Architect ambushed me. My companions were geared. They all got their gear back like they were supposed to. My gear was in the chest by the Qunari Merchant along with everything else I had in inventory.

Was a minor workaround.

Have you hit the "influence" bugs yet? "Hello. Nice to meet you." + 100 approval. Then there's Oghren with 0 approval, but his gifts act as if he's at 100 so it takes some work to get him to his personal quest.

the first time I tried playing, I recruited him, was disgusted by the joining and all his gifts started at +6. Then I hit the silverite mines bug and couldn't continue the game as I had no saves prior to the mines unless I backtracked like 4 hours of gaming (I just kept resaving over my old saves).

It took 6 attempts to play through before I finally finished it with a PC. On the plus side I got to know Anders, Justice and Nathaniel well enough to like them as much as the Origins companions. Sigrun got a huge boost in likeability in the short time I had her in my group. Not only a dwarf and the cutest damn companion IN Awakenings but a Legion of the Dead member as well. Plus she loves books.

It seems the bug in the silverite mines - and all the oapproval bugs, too - don´t happen if you play an Orlaisian warden. At least I didn´t experience a single one.

I didn't experience them with my imported character either.

The bug I did experience with an imported character was the "manual of focus" giving me one extra skill and talent point each time it was used. That didn't happen with the Orlesian Warden.

I've only experienced this bug once in a bunch of playthroughs.

I'm pretty sure that what triggers it are certain DLC items. The Orlesian WC starts clean, as it were, so no bug.

My first play through in Awankening My poor warden lost her armour at the start and so fought through Vigils Keep naked. Then she headed for the Wending Woods and wound up naked again in the Silverite Mines. It makes you wonder if some of the game designers aren't nudity fetishists.

It just makes me want to shout when I hear about people 'having to start Awakening naked.'

YOU DON'T HAVE TO!

load your epilogue save from Origins, return to camp, and prep for Awakening by stripping your companions of gear you want to take and buying/selling from the dwarf. Requip your character with stuff you know will carry over (even though there are patches now that account for the DLC as well), make a new save, and then import THAT save into Awakening.

You should start the game very well equipped.

useful information and I definitely did that on my playthrough even to turning my Origin companions into nudists but this thread isn't about that issue, it was about a bug in the Silverite Mines.

No need to get all het up about it and shout Posted Image

Agreed. Yes, there are work arounds. It's not that hard to be blessed with gear and cash after transfer. But starting the attack on the keep butt nekkid was funny (and I mean nekkid, I use one of the naughty mods).

LOL me too. which is why the silverite mines bug caused me no end of giggling on this side of the screen though I imagine my WC wasn't too happy about her junior wardens seeing her in the altogether!
