Does anyone miss looting anymore? I surely don't.

Looking back loot wasn't all that great, most armors and weapons were simple retextures of the same models and now seeing all the custom pieces and new weapons we're getting in the DLC I've come to really appreciate the direction Bioware has taken the franchise in this regards.
What about you guys? do you still miss loot? agree or disagree with me? speak your minds.

If I see a foe, with a helmet, or a weapon, I like to be able to pick that weapon...even if it sucks. I dont care I like being able to strip a foe from his.....possessions

I do not care if ME2 lost some RPG elements but it is still better than the first one.

So no, I don't miss it one bit. (and this comes from someone who loves micro-managing, but ME1 was just a great pain in this respect).

I always hated the fact that most things get "teleported" to your inventory when you kill something, and that you can only "take all" from crates and stuff. And the fact that identical items (like upgrades and so on) do not stack. And how you could only omni-gel one thing at a time, and how stores were so poorly implemented.

it was unrefined, but didn't need to be shell out completely. ALl it needed was a "take single item", and "tabs" in inventory and there u go

But then I miss almost every single feature of ME1 that didn´t make it to ME2 (yes, even the elevators, Mako etc.) so.. well.
"Teleportation" mentioned by cachx was no fun and could be easily solved much better, true.

ME1 was a pain because of the terrible inventory system (lists are bad) and the nonsensical teleporting of loot to you.cachx wrote...

The existence of loot on its own wasn't a problem.

better explained thank you.
Is like saying. You like oblivion items....no you like that system because the inventory made it practical to carry them, not just one big pile to sort through.

I have loot OCD. I have to loot everything. I know it's just going to be more crap I don't need, but I have to do it anyway.

I never realized there was a signal saying "you can't leave because you haven't sold all your stock"
sell everything, or keep everything, eventually you dont take anything and you forget about it.
But for the first 2-4 playthroughs is very immersive, and very exciting looking foward for the next best weapon.

I think that folks around here won't be satisfied with Mass Effect unless it becomes Dragon Age in space.

But I do hope there's a bit more cool stuff to find on missions in ME3. It's not a dealbreaker or anything, but they way it is in ME2, it feels extremely bare-bones. I'd rather have that than the mess it was in ME1, though.

If you can't scavenge an enemies corpse(loot) I atleast HOPE the stores in ME3 have something actually useful/neat/cool/variety to buy.
Lets be honest though, in ME2 TIM should have just provided us every resource/gear we needed to complete the mission. The shallow variety concerning upgrades, armor, stores etc(save weapon diversity) made it painfully clear what type of game bioware wanted it to be.
I guess all that cut fat read "narrow gaming" helped keep folks focused on the mediocre plot.
To each his own, I didn't have any problems with the loot system in ME1. Bioware should have just added a more organized lay-out and simple delete all feature and be done with it.

Should he have given you weapons? Sure
Then people would have complained about that you couldn't obtain any more weapons.

Replaying ME1 (haven't played 2 yet) I can say that after the first few levels loot basically just becomes creds and after I hit 9mil it becomes omni-gel. Why there was never a way to just leave loot behind, I'll never know.
Dont open lockers after you get the best stuff.Plain and simple. And then just sell the things you got from enemies.
