I finished a new adept run that I started when a friend gave me an extra dragon armor code. It was a blast. I loved trying out new combos and for the first time flinging most of the collectors and husks off the walkways and platforms.

I only rarely used my weapons and was frankly to busy setting up warp combos, etc. to even bother with my tempest/locust.

However, now I've started a new Infiltrator--it's was my numbe one fav. class--just to goof around and do a play through were myself and all my teammates came to the battle with all their skills (editor, yes, but i've done enough playthroughs for me3 import).

I've found my self pausing the game more often looking for power throws and combos than i have casting cloak and sniping.

Adept ruined me. I now like Adept more than any other and my sniper rifle is mad at me. Every time I cast inferno it zooms in on my target just to let me know it can probably do the job better/faster (yes, i know it does this normally, but it's roleplay and thats how I choose to define what's happening)!

Heh. When I was learning how to play a Vanguard, I reached a point where it was the most awesome class I have ever played and I couldn't believe it took me so long to discover the love and it would be my favorite forever.

Then the Kasumi DLC came out, so I picked one of my earlier Infiltrator playthroughs just to give the DLC a quick run. The first YMIR headshot, and suddenly it was the most awesome class I have ever played and I couldn't believe I was so close to denying it for the reckless vanguard and it would be my favorite forever.

Then I started an Engineer and threw a combat drone at Harbinger. Suddenly it was the most awesome class I have ever played and I couldn't believe--okay, you must get the idea by now. :)

I think Infiltrator will always be my actual favorite class, but I tend to forget that when I'm in the zone with another class.

The infiltrator is just boring now.At least for me.It feels like a gimped soldier now instead of the attractive tech/combat mix class of the first game.

With the infiltrator, I only ever use incinerate when it's the only practical option, or when fighting husks. I use sniper rifle + cloak against other armored targets and I never use incinerate when equipped with SR and taking cover.

While I love the Adept, the Infiltrator remains my #1. It's fun because it's sneaky and because you can kill an enemy with one bullet. Nothing in Adept tops the feeling of watching an enemy fall to the ground in slo-mo after a successful bullet between the eyes.

^ I completely understand. That was what I thought, too, on my first couple of run throughs as an Inf. But then I pull/throw'd a couple of mechs out of the area... by launching them straight up and through the roof's glass windows. Then I started doing all kinds of crazy stuff beyond the usual pull/warps.

On this playthrough of Inf. on insanity, i cloak, hs, watch the target either die or fall and just think... I could have pulled that target into this group of targets, warp exploded it, then waited for them to get up and get locked in a singularity and throw field the lot of them off the map...

First I loved the Adept, then I loved the Vanguard and now I'm going to love the Engineer.

Soldier get a 100 percent weapon damage increase from level one adrenaline rush.Soldiers are the better snipers like they were it in the first game too.(adrenaline burst+2 assination shots)

Better snipers? Hardly. An infiltrator with cloak drops every enemy with one shot that soldier with AR drops. On top of that, infiltrators get slomo without cloak, which is very useful for non-cloaked widow headshot kills, and they hit the head more reliably because of cloak. A 30% difference in ability damage bonus doesn't make much difference, really.

I don't know if Adept ruined me. I love the adept. I think it did however make me a better player. I'm more mindful of my squads powers and the combo opportunities they present while before I pretty much soloed with my soldier and infiltrator. I'll always have a soft spot for the infiltrator though. it was my first insanity run, and my first NG+ run. As Cruc1al said. I like being sneaky, love the widow, and love doing CQC if I want to.

I love playing as a Adept. I was going to replay as a renegade with the same class, but I'm forcing myself to try the Engineer or vanguard. but oh... its so tempting

i had zero fun with the sentinel class though ._.

The argument itself is pointless. Neither class is a true sniper. A true sniper was the infiltator of ME1. Because Bioware is stressing faster paced gameplay in smaller envrionments, you'll never see the quintessential sniper in ME2. Simply using a sniper rifle as your main weapon doesn't make the class a sniper.

The adept is the truest caster in the game. Even the engineer's combat drone has some way of diverting enemy fire, but the adept has no defensive power outside of bonus power selection. Most of the time you're using powers and setting up biotic combos rather than firing. So if you play an adept and then go back to a more combat intensive class, it's going to take time to get used to doing you're damage by weapons again more so than by powers.

agree...that's why Inf. is so frustrating right now especially since everything has armor or shields on insanity. Maybe I should drop down to veteran...
