Hey all,

Would anyone happen to know how to have a cutscene merge directly into a conversation, and then have the conversation merge directly into another cutscene? I suppose the best example is what Bioware does with Mass Effect.

Can anyone help me out?

Am I just super dense and asking something thats common knowledge? Or has this yet to be done or not possible to do? Would be cool to know either way. :)

You can use command in Toolset to "associate cutscene with line" of conversation. It makes cutscene replace that line and trigger instead, and after it's done the game proceeds with conversation which is defined as followup for that line. This sounds like what you're attempting to do?

The opposite actually, I begin with a long cutscene that leads to a conversation. Then I want the final line of the conversation to trigger another cutscene directly that continues the story.

Ah. A cutscene can have a script attached to it (through its properties) which is executed after the scene is finished. You could perhaps use this script to trigger the conversation, and then at the end of conversation itself launch the second cutscene thus creating the cutscene-conversation-cutscene sequence.

Yeah, would you happen to know how to put such a script together? :)

A function call to trigger conversation appears to be UT_Talk() but for the details it's probably best to ask in the scripting section of the forum.
