I know Duncan is supposed to be Obi-Wan to your Warden but he isn't much of a mentor since you never really get a chance to know the guy. Since it looks like future DLC will be compatable with both Origins and Awakening, why not make a standalone flashback adventure with the Warden and Duncan, occuring between the conclusion of the origin and Ostagar? As far as I know there was never a specific amount of time that passed between the two events, so it would seem like a perfect fit.

Thoughts?

Actually it could be alright if done right.

of course, who says Duncan is dead? afterall, white out screen and well, never found a body. people assume he died.

Afterall to paraphrase another certain GW recruit said."He's faster than he looks" And maybe like a certain brotherly character, by the time he gets out of the Wilds the Blight is over?

Also if Cailan's body can be found, in the state it was, wouldn't the Darkspawn treat Duncan's body the same? He was the Fereldon GW Commander.

But this is all just muings of someone who wished there was more Duncan.

I have a mixed feeling about this idea.

You can always read novel book. I believe, it's "Dragon Age: The Calling" is the one where you will gain insight of Duncan during his youth time. It's such an awesome book. I prefer to remain that way.

Too often prequel story would probably ruin the story. DA:O is just perfect as it is.

I wouldn't mind seeing a dlc that features Duncan in his youth and that follows him from joining the wardens up to the events in Origins.

Perhaps I'll have to check out "The Calling" someday, though I'm not much of a fan of book reading. I like to control the people in the story and be the hero, rather than read about them.

Actually, the writters already said: Duncan it's dead
I personally never like Duncan or i drinked that damned caliche or i was stabed by him... but the most sad... i could kill all the Awakening Party if they refuse to drink it

why not make the calling into a dlc or expansion, I'm pretty sure Bioware would make a killing off it.

dudes and dudeets the awesomeness that is duncan is dead. Period. David Gaider said this himself months ago in a similar thread to this, and i very much doubt they have a Lazerus project in the DA universe, so sorry folks but its a no.

the topic is about bringing duncan back in a flashback, not in the present. I see no reason why they shouldn't make a prequel for duncan and its something bioware should consider.

I like this idea.  It should be a 2 part mod with the flashback adventure and then a 2nd adventure in the real game where you find Duncan's body.

The truth is, Duncan is alive and is now making Old Spice ads for me muhahaha!

Seriously though seeing Duncan at least in a flashback would be really nice.  I wanted to see more of him, he looked like he was quite the badass warden.  I never read The Calling (I really should, I know) so my exposure to him was just that small bit at the start of the game.... which of course left me wanting for more.  So yes, more Duncan please! :D

There may be a mention of him. Maybe a book but he is dead. Leave him at peace. He is with The Maker now...It's not like he had long to live anyway. Alistair said that Duncan talked to him about going to Orzammar where the Grey Wardens die.

I don't think people are asking to have Duncan brought back to life and put into the Origins story, but a dlc like Leliana's Song, which is a separate adventure.

Go through Duncan's joining and him becoming the leader of the Ferelden wardens, up to the events prior to Origins. For completing the dlc, you get Duncan's beard.

A lelianas song of duncan, i like it.

Perhaps before the events of The Calling, his killing of genevieves fiance and then his recruitment, living with the guilt etc? Getting to know fiona and the others

They could do this to make up for taking someone so awesome away from us so soon

LOVE the idea of getting Duncans beard as a reward for completion!
