I am thinking of getting a new hard drive for my PS3 as Im nearly out of space.
Will the PS3 system backup / restore program backup the Dragon Age locked game saves?

Yes, it WILL work. If you back up the data and restore it on the same ps3, it will carry over. However if you back up your ps3 data and restore it on a different ps3 then no. Copy protected data (like dragon age) can be backed up but has to be restored to the original console in which the save file was originally made. When you choose to back up, a message will tell you this.

I have backed up copy protected saves via the full system backup and played them on a different ps3, I never got any such message.
