The original Perfect Dark for the N64. Goldeneye would be a close second.

I think my favourite game varies with time - technological advancements and things tend to do that.
But the top few (in no particular order):
KOTOR (and 2 to some extent)
Jedi Knight series - Jedi Academy multiplayer especially.
Half Life series
Mirrors Edge - I hope they do more with this.
and of course ME1 and ME2, or else I wouldn't be posting here.
Honourable mentions to Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Mario Kart for fun gameplay with friends.
Yep a small team Is all that is known. Free roam and Multiplayer please lol. Imo its one of the most original FPS games to come out in a long time.

2)Mass Effect 2
3)Halo 3+Halo1
4)Mass Effect on par with Half Life 1+2 here.
5)Oblivion
6)KoTOR2
7)BG2
8)BG1
9)Halo 2
10)Jade Empire
Honourable mentions: Fable 2, Fifa 9+10, Dragon Age (don't own, borrowed it), Star Wars: Republic commando, Empire at war, AOE 1, 2 and 3. Halo Wars and ODST (nearly put it in 10th).
Sorry if I rated BG2 and BG1 low, I'm a more modern gamer. Those games are both brilliant in their own ways, and I would probably appreciate it more if I was from an older age group.

Assassin's Creed 1 & 2, both are great. Made me actually like history lessons, lol.
Bioshock 2, adore it. The Good Ending is wonderful, makes me cry each time.
Mass Effect 2, ofc.
I... guess thats all. My memory is bad so there might be alot more.

It's definitely one of the best games to come out this generation. A beautiful, briliant and truly unique experience. Played through it at least five different times and still can't get enough of it.annihilator27 wrote...

Ocarina of Time is undoubtedly the begin of 3D gaming success and one of the best games ever created. And even if you don't agree with that personalized statement, you just have to look up the statistics.
Sony fanboy? Far from it.
Ocarina is a decent enough game, I'll give you that. It's just that it's nowhere near as revolutionary nor flawless as most make it to be. As far as the story and formula go, it's basically a rehash of A Link to the Past. It did not bring with it the glorious age of 3D console gaming, Super Mario 64 did. As for the atmosphere: ALttP and Link's Awakening did a lot more with a lot less, while Majora's Mast and the Windwaker managed to get it correctly in 3D.
Hell, I'd even go as far as to say that Halo - yes, I dare sayeth it - has had a bigger influence on console first-person shooters and gaming in general than Ocarina ever did.

Nothing beat's MGS1's story and presentation
Except MGS4 lol
Only if being absurder (more absurd? I dunno) makes it better. Part of MGS's story and presentation was it's (relative) realism, which was completely thrown out of the window with Guns of the Patriots.

As for my own favourite game, I don't think I'll just be able to choose just one. Give me some time to work on a list.

Not really. MGS had always its bits of sci-fi. MGS1 already talked about clones, MGS2 had the genetic data of memory on arms (lol, but it's kinda true), MGS3 talked about super soldiers on WW2, etc. Aaaaand, except MGS3, you always had a bipedal tank capable of launching nukes.Kaiser Shepard wrote...

Though I'd say my favorite game of all time would have to be a tie between Mass Effect 1-2 and Dragon Age.
With Deus Ex, KotOR and Half-Life 2 being close runner-ups.

As for my own favourite game, I don't think I'll just be able to choose just one. Give me some time to work on a list.
Keyword being "relative". Sure, it's implausible and might be impossible (as of yet) in the real world, but very little of it kills the suspension of disbelief. From Les Enfants Terribles to the Genome Army to even REX itself, little of it managed to destroy the suspension of disbelief.
The same could be said of Mass Effect as long as we keep the Reapers out of the picture: for a sci-fi setting, none of it seems to unrealistic, especially compared to something like Star Wars.

Say hello to my little list:
-Mass Effect 1 + 2
-Sonic the Hedgehog 2 + Sonic & Knuckles
-Chrono Trigger
-Mystic Quest (Seiken Densetsu)
-The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening/Oracle of Seasons
-Pokemon Red/Blue
-Donkey Kong '94
-Donkey Kong Country 2
-Metal Gear Solid (and it's remake, The Twin Snakes)
-Half-Life 2 (+ Episodes)
-Rayman 2
-Spyro the Dragon: Year of the Dragon
-Alundra
-Super Metroid
-Metroid Fusion
-Metroid Prime (and Echoes as well, Corruption and S)
-Resident Evil 4
-Dead Space
-Mirror's Edge
-BioShock
-Assassin's Creed II (and to a lesser extent the first game as well)
-Halo 2 (after that: ODST > CE and H3)
-Gears of War 1 & 2
-Soul Calibur II
-Super Smash Bros. Melee
-Tales of Symphonia/Vesperia
-Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean

ME1 and 2
Chrono Trigger - the first game I played with multiple endings. LOTS of endings.
Morrowind/Oblivion
Fall out 3 with the dlc so you don't die at the end
Uncharted Waters: New Horizons - spent hours and years writing in notbooks where the merchant could get the best return on what he was selling and with the explorer trying to find lost Atlantis. Played every option available.
Jade Empire
BG
NWN series
Diablo

2. zelda: wind waker (my fave of the series)
3. X wing alliance (cracking game)
4. ME 1
5. Oblivion.
honorable mentions: resident evil 4 and and both bioshocks ( bioshock 1s story and atmosphere with bioshock 2s combat...would be perfect)
