Playing as a darkspawn leaves me feeling cold.

That might be true, I almost always play an evil char... I guess some players are just cold blooded... ;)

I have, i thought it was a good laugh, and intreasting to see the kinda 'what if' and i reckon being given the chance to kill Alistair at the end was worth the 400 alone lol.

No thanks, I don't find killing my old companions appealing, even if alternate universes are really great.

Seconded.  I'm passing on the Darkspawn Chronicles.

Was a fun little romp for me. I might even go back and try it again some day, see if I can get another achievement or two.

Have to admit that I wasn't as affected by the deaths of certain NPCs as much as I thought I'd be, though whether that's a sign of me not liking them that much to begin with or the whole "alternate reality" thing kicking in, I'm not sure. The only time I felt any sort of unease over that aspect of the game was during Alistair's final cutscene...

... the sight of Barkspawn in the background with a couple spears in him, dead as a doornail... that kind of got to me. But, that dog was Barkspawn instead of my trusted and good-natured companion Mutton, so even that wasn't too bad.

Alistair's death scene itself was fine, though, and the other major NPCs were really too remote for me to care about. Half the time they just registered as a particularly tough enemy, instead of "Sten" or "Oghren" per sé, there was always so much to keep track of (I didn't even realize I'd killed Arl Howe until I saw a pile of bones with his name on it, for instance).

Playing as the shriek was fun, as was the Ogre.

I'd still prefer something more meaty, story-wise, but this one was more fun than I was expecting, and left me feeling a lot less guilty than I thought it would. Was worth the $5.00, I'd say.

I downloaded it.. it took me about an hour and a half playing on hard mode. I don't think I'll play it again anytime soon, maybe one day i'll do it on nightmare mode.

I really wasn't that excited playing it but for the price it was pretty good, not as bad as i thought but I wouldn't have paid anymore for it.

I really would have liked some kind of cutscenes or death scenes or anything with the characters.. oh well.

I'm procrastinating all DA related purchases until a patch is released that fixes the mess Awakening is.

Never bothered to buy this DLC because like everyone else I'm waiting for the patch, until then there's no point playing this uber bugged game.

It certainly is bugged as hell. In fact I think I am going to join the no DLC till the game is fixed crowd. The game is bugged so long now that I actually forgot and got used to playing with them.

I downloaded it but after completing it (which took minutes and not hours sadly) I did think em.... What was the point? I didn't gain anything really but I did loose a few quid. No disaster, but I just thought it was unnecessary, and too easy. More interesting DLC please.

I've always bought the DLCs and redeem codes for extras, but this is the one time I refuse. No need to state why when others like Lucy_Glitter and MistySun have already said the same thing.

I dunno, it was a fun little break from the norm, I never went in expecting half a game or really indepth aspects like voice acting or much. I got what I paid for and enjoyed it for what it was rather then expecting more. The bugs were not horrible, other then the game crashing a few times things went well.

However, to each their own.

I like playing "evil" chars, just not stupid chars. I'd love to play as someone like Dr. Doom from Fantastic Four (the comic books, not the movie). Someone with a goal other than "killing everything that moves".

i thought it was a nice change of pace. if they decide to do an entire series of these my opinion may change, but a one off dlc to see how much your warden impacts the world is cool. shrieks are so great to play with. they are by far the strongest. they can whip up on ogres in no time. too bad they don't..... for $5, i thought it was worth it.

I think it was all of the morons at release that cried demanded a playable darkspawn waden that turned me off.   These wee the same peoel that wanted to be half-dragons and werewolf wardens...none of which make sense.

I know that isn;t what the DLC is about, but the minute I heard "play as a darkspawn" the first thing that came to mind was "lol i iz a 12 yr old smacktard"
