Yes I romanced Liara with my Paragon Vanguard class Sheperd named Joshua. However I RPed Joshua to be kinda horny(which might be why he and the consort had some romance) so when Liara wouldn't rejoin his squad I might have unintentionally rped that he kissed Miranda and she is currently waiting for me to talk with her oh noes. What should Joshua do I like both Liara and Miranda but my biggest fear is that there will be some huge confrontation in ME3 that I would have to deal with :(

Are you serious? If you RP, then RP. If the character you made is "kinda horny" and doesn't think about consequences of cheating, then do as role dictates. Don't mix roleplay and metagaming.

Cheat.

Or not.

Why are you asking us how your Shep should be played?

As far as I know, there will be repercussions for cheating in ME3. But that's a player who knows it, not character. If it bugs you so much, make two separate playthroughts. cheat and non-cheat version.

You can't be faithful to someone who doesn't exist anymore. In ME2 Liara has been swapped with some other version of her from a parallel dimension, like in that Red Dwarf episode, so either way you're cheating.

Most people don't see it as cheating. Liara's moved on, she doesn't care about you anymore. The ME1 romances were just a fling IMO

It should have negative consequences (emails) in ME3 only if you want to get back together with your ME1 LI (which nobody what "cheated" actually wants since the new LIs are much better)

EDIT: If you want to be with Liara in ME3, don't "cheat". If you like Miranda more, then go ahead, dump Liara

Do what you want...everyone has an opinion on this, but the only one that matters is your own.

Yeah, do what you want.

The ME1 LIs are better and less expendable than the ME2 LIs, who are likely dead anyway, so I guess thats one reason to stay loyal. Ultimately its your choice though. If someone wants to settle for characters who should have no major role in ME3 as they are likely dead, thats their business.

The reason why Liara wasn't a squad mate in ME2 was because Ashely and Kaidan weren't. And they weren't because they could die. BioWare hopefully did this to make less permutations in ME3 (so that everyone can die only once).

If one LI is a squad mate, they all are
If one LI is a cameo, they all are
If even one LI isn't a squad mate, NONE of them are

Note: Thane could be an exception since he'll be dead in a year and ME3 will most likely happen at least one year after ME2

BioWare does this to be fair to everyone or else lots of people will be angry (if Liara is a squad mate and Tali isn't BioWare will lose most of its costumers)

The question is not "if you should" but "do you want to"

They didnt let that hamper them in ME2, so why should they in ME3?

Unless youve got official confirmation that Bioware is going that route in ME3, I dont put much stock in it.

Personally I think thats the price you pay for liking expendable characters. That I think nearly all of them suck is subjective. What isnt subjective is that in a huge number of peoples games, those characters are dead.

This is how I saw it. Although she does probably still love you. Her obsession with the Shadow Broker trumps that. She is not willing too give up that quest for Shepard. So you could either move on in that light, realizing that Shepard is no longer as important to her as she is to Shepard and "cheat". Or you can justify her behaviour and understand that you have been dead for two years and she has had a lot happen to her in that time. Respect that and not "cheat".

Your call.

All ME1 LIs will be squadmates in ME3. This doesn't mean any ME2 LIs will be squadmates, or that they get equal treatment.

ME1 LIs are primary LIs for ME3 (and ME trilogy overall) romantic subplot. Everything else will be flings, including ME2 LIs, ME1 fling (Shaira), ME2 flings (Kelly & Samara) and possible ME3 flings (Gianna, Shiala and/or unknown).

Dude, everybody knows me1 li weren't bulit to last, they were all ugly one night stand that you can't cheat on in a non existing relationship. But, if for some strange reason you want Liara:sick: back then just a one nighter Jack. Otherwise, your going to have some real problems if you can't decide, this isn't Jade Empire. So if want Miranda get  with Miranda, with want Liara you know rest.

What are you talking about? Like I said Liara was a cameo 'cos the other ME1 LIs were

Tali and Garrus were squad mates 'cos they weren't LIs and they couldn't die in ME1

In DAO:A, only Oghren returned 'cos he couldn't die in DAO. You also couldn't kill Morrigan, but she wasn't recruitable 'cos you CAN kill the other LIs

Like I said, BioWare does this to be fair to everyone or else a lot of people will be angry as to why their LI wasn't recruitable and some other crappy boring LI was

While this kind of equal treatment would be nice, there is absolutely no guarantee that the devs are interested in being "fair" when creating squadmates for the last game.  They could make the new squad just Liara and eleven brand new characters, and no matter how disappointed we are about that, they know that the majority of people complaining on the forum will buy the game.  Now do I actually think that that's what they'll do?  No, I would be extremely surprised if certain characters who might be dead after ME2 are not squadmates in the last game.  But I won't hold my breath waiting for ME3 to satisfy everyone, including me, when it comes to the "perfect" squad makeup.

As for whether one should move on (not CHEATING!) from your ME1 LI, it's all up to how many separate save games you're interested in keeping, whether you want to see a "confrontation" scene between the two LIs, and whether you think the new LI is worth the risk of losing the old LI in the last game.  Many fans would say Liara is worth it...

We already went through this and I couldn't convince you since you are biased and hate the ME2 characters, so you think what you like

BioWare isn't about to lose their biggest fan base (Talimancers) and make boring characters like Kaidan and Liara recruitable

Why do you think Liara was just a cameo in ME2?

There is only one option how to stop those cheat/don't cheat dillemas. We must be able to Paragon or Renegade our way into a threesome in ME3
