"Sometimes when Shepard's shields go down, they are instantly fully restored"

Did someone actually see that happening ?

Whenever I hear "my shields are down!!" that's it, I have to stay in cover and wait...I always buy that upgrade, but I'm starting to think it's some sort of placebo effect, you feel safer, but you're not...

I've never noticed my shields restored after they were brought down. I, too, would like to know if this really works and I'm just getting horribly unlucky, or if this is a non-working feature of Mass Effect 2.

It works. I cannot tell how often the effect occurs, but I have defiantly noticed my shields being restored on multiple occasions.

It works. I saw it once. Of course, I was under fire, but I saw it immediately rise to a quarter before getting slapped down again...

Definitely spell definitely definitely!

Unless you mean to say that your observations are dashingly rebellious.

Yep, it works. It tends to be the times it works when I notice it at all, which suggests that it doesn't happen that often.

Meh, my shields go down so fast that even if it was working i'd never notice. Even with 15% shield upgrades through armor, my shields/barriers are nothing more than a paper band-aid. So, I've never noticed them go up instantly and I always have to squat behind something nearly for ever.

Just wish the enemy's shields did the same...

Yeah, but that's really noticeable, probably 'cause it always happen. Not the case here.
I guess I'll have to pay more attention...

Too bad the description says "sometimes".  How much is "sometimes" ?
It would have been much better if it said "5%, 10 % chance of..."

There's a thread listing Cerberus' failures. Probably they should add this Cerberus prototype there.

I don't remember ever seeing it work, if it does my guess is that the proc must be fairly low.

I notice it a lot more on my Adept, Engineer, Infiltrator. I primarily peek out and play tag with the enemy and I figure that is why I notice it more. On my Vangard, Sentinel, and Soldier I do not notice it as much because I am under fire almost all the time. If memory serves me true, the instant recharge will be halted by constant fire.

Or maybe it happens more often than you think, and you don't notice it?
Your statement really made no sense.

Try standing out in the sun on Haestrom and you should be able to see it work since your shields will constantly be burning out.

I've seen it kick in. The thing is, if you're under fire, your shields are going down. So, if you aren't looking at your shield bar when they replenish, you will think you just didn't get hit that badly.

There is a suggestion for ME3.....BIoware, dont give us words as "often" of "sometimes" "multple"

Give us a number... or numbers.

"x2", "10%"  etc thank you :P

I just did that... 105 times exactly ( I can get obsessed with things like this sometimes  )

Only 3 times the so called "redundant field generator" kicked in.

Those 3 times happened when I still had some shields and immediately after I got out of the sun.
It doesn't seem to work if your shields are completly destroyed. And they were not "fully" restored. 50 % at most.

Of course, this is not definitve but this upgrade seems a bit stingy...

It definitely works, as I have seen it happen several times across my playthroughs.
I wouldn't mind seeing it happen more often though Posted Image

Hmm, when I was on Haestrom I noticed it kicking in about 25% of the time.  Based on yours and several other players experiences and the law of averages, it looks like it won't be activating for me any time soon lol :(

I was thinking the sun on Haestrom is not a good way to test it, 'cause it does constant damage to your shields. Like the collector particle beam (those damn assassins!!)

If your shields are getting restored and you take some damage, the restoring inmediatly stops. That's probably what happens with the sun. Maybe the field generator does kick in more often, but since it's already taking damage, it stops as soon as it starts. That's why I only saw it happen 3 times, when I was moving towards the shade.

I don't know... this still bugs me.

It works, but not as instant recharge when the shields are shutting down, but sometimes restores energy that you lost from shot.

At least it seems like that.

Who knows how well it works?!? The point is, it is questionable. Use resources for other more reliable upgrades.
