Just wondering if it's worth giving her any kind of heat sink or keep it for myself.

i say give yourself the best ones and give your squad some if you have spares. also, i dont know how kinetic coils would be effective if you have a high accuracy rifle... so im curious

Scram Rails and frictionless materials for mods, then one companion would get fire ammo, and the other would get toxic ammo. The main reason is to find out who the F is shooting me in the back so I can stop them, fire is red flashes, poison is green flashes.......
My ammo was always changed between shredder and tungsten depending on who/what I would be shooting at.

Squaddie 1: Combat Optics, Frictionless Materials, Inferno Ammo
Squaddie 2: Frictionless Materials, Scram Rail, Hammerhead ammo.
Me: AR/Pistol : Frictionless Materials, Scram Rail, Tungsten Ammo
Shotgun: Frictionless Materials, Scram Rail, Shredder Ammo.
What I have noticed, especially during the Rachnii waves at the Listening post, is the squaddie with frictionless and inferno fires in longer, more sustained bursts than the one with the hammerhead. Even with my AR set up as above, I can fire almost non stop without having to worry about heat buildup.
I have recently started having squaddie 1 use snowblind ammo. Seems to have some decent success.

I have all six of my squad mates with the same setup once their levels are maxed out.

The problem with using snowblind in pistol and assault rifle is that it kills your rate of fire. It will cost you 40% of your rate of fire.
Just some base calculations
base damage for a spectre X AR 384 dps (damage per second)
2 rail extensions VII + Snowblind X 351.36 dps
1rail extension VII+ 1 Frictionless X 470.4 dps
So that set up is costing you 32.64 dps over a bare Spectre X gun and 119.24 dps over the Rail Extension VII + 1 Frictionless X (with no ammo at all). It only gets worse for the snowblind, if you compare it to shredder or tungsten.
The formula is taken from http://meforums.biow...forum=123&sp=90

On the other hand, I hit Husk-Saren with Snowblind on my first playthrough, and it involved just holding down the trigger and following him with the gun. Never even saw a third line of heat with twin Scram Rails.
You can get no heat/higher damage out of two Frictionless. Snowblind does bad things to your dps. The +28% bonus is does not offset the loss due to rate of fire reduction. Even with 2 of the higest damage bonus mods in the game (2 X Rail extension VII), you'll end up doing less damage than a no mods gun. This is less important in Shotgun and Sniper, since they depend more on burst damage, but pistol and assault rifle depend on rate of fire for their damage output.
You'd be better off with a frictionless X , another mod of your choice and just about any other ammo mod in a pistol or assault rifle.
If you want to run dual rail ext VII, I'd go either cryo, tungsten, shredder, or incendiary and use overkill/marksman to control the heat.

Is the Kinetic Coil any good for rifles? It reduces recoil, but it seems everyone here just seem to use Frictionless Material and Scram Rails.
Kinetic coils are ok, but with the high end guns, recoil is less of a problem, due to their higher base accuracy. This makes the weapons controlable even without any additional recoil reduction, even when running in full auto.
