I find it stupid that Bioware did what they did with her. Why waste the time giving her a video and all that, considering what happens? Ya could've maybe fixed one or two of the million bugs in Awk.

We're in nospoilerzone, but if Bioware is going to produce alternate reality DlCs, I'd like to see one in which there is an alternate reality where ... well, I'll leave it at this: her fate is different.

But .... doubt they will... still hoping for a Mhairi mod, but they gotta update the Toolset first before we'll see one.

I wish, but DLC for Awakenings isn't happening, since, well, Awakenings wasn't exactly a smash hit among DAO players... why make stuff for only a couple people?

It's just the Old Bait and Switch routine. I'm sure they did the same thing for Origins. I remember seeing Jory and Daveth marketing and fan threads looking forward to having those companions in the party before they were redshirted. Also I doubt the marketing/promo/video person who did the Mhairi stuff would have been on the programming team...though that might explain a few things.

Too bad Mhairi didn't get to meet Alistair more. They seem to have pretty similar views on what it means to be a Grey Warden.

I'm still living in hope that DA will one day give us a dedicated female warrior as a party member. :P

Apparently girls can only be rogues or mages...maybe male PCs get scared of women who can wear heavy armour and swing two-handed weapons? ;)

Hence why I like playing female warrior PCs. My rogues are all male, haha. All 1 of them.

my female mage is now an arcane warrior and heavy armor she wears.Wading into the fray amongst the male characters is cool plus spells as a back up.Yes it would have been nice to add her and I agree a female lead character would be a plus!

I think she was actullay an interesting character who had good chemistry with the other NPCs. I would have dropped Velena for her in a heartbeat.

Eager to please . . . like an over-enthusiastic puppy dog - with a sword!! Yeah, she would have made an interesting addition to the party.

I liked Velanna too though, it's a shame that Awakening was only an expansion, it would have been cool to see the characters develop more, and go on larger personal quests.

Actually, I wished Awakening had more places to go to and perhaps one less companion. You are forced to decide which companions you want in your party by doing a specified quest. I would have prefered to get my companions early in one or two places (ie Vigil's Keep and Amaranthine) then take them out questing more.

As it is, there's always one or two companions who spend little time with the party. Maybe that's why the approvals have to jump so quickly.

When I first played Awakening(only played once actually), I had the feeling Mhairi would be the one to die at the Joining. Why? because that's life, you don't get what you want the most and she seemed very excited about becoming a Grey Warden. Rest In Peace Mhairi, don't worry, I didn't recruit Oghren.

It's rather obvious if you happen to check the damage chart on a new warden and see that her overall party damage is 0% after a few battles. :)

People love what they can't have. This was a huge deal because now we have a bland NPC that no one can have, so everyone wants her back. Typical.

Oh no, people liked an NPC!

Um...yes?

Anyway, I never said I wanted her back. I just want a female warrior party member. ;) For some reason the female tank is a rare creature.

Actually i would rather have her than Oghren, so I get a bland NPC that I don't use. Typical.

Drunken dwarves and elves that hate all humans aren't generic characters or anything. Those have never been done before.

Dunno. What little dialogue there was for her may have been a bit generic and bland.

Who knows - there could have been far more interesting aspects to her - as there were with the others - you just never got to find out.

I hope a mod maker will come up with some interesting additional backstory. Why was she so eager? Etc.
