I got a similar question: how to perform melee attack exactly? Just rush upon them and it will automatically performed? or still you have to press the fire button?

I prefer to take headshots.
It feels so good when you see their heads exploding and their brains scattered on the floor.

2 ways to melee.
1. Trying to fire at point blank range melees them.
2. Sprint into them.

That's saved my characters life many times over...especially against like hordes of creepers. Wish that had carried over to ME2.
I haven't tried punching out a thresher maw yet though.

Well thesher maw's melee is a one hit kill for you, your squad mates, and your Mako.

I'll uh...load Wrex up on ryncol and get him to charge a thresher maw.

Actually with the right build and equipment a thresher maw is not a one hit kill. I recall a thread from the old forums, one guy was playing around with a soldier shocktrooper build and was meleeing a thresher maw. IIRC, it was around 20+ hits from the thresher before it killed him. This was I expect with Colossus X heavy and master immunity, but it isn't alway a death sentence to be close to a thresher.

Let me guess, he was playing Casual? Because my Mako can't survive one hit from the thresher maw. Unless the Shocktrooper build has more health and damage protection than the Mako.

Yep, the build has more damage reduction than the mako. With Colossus X, before taking into account any bonus from armor skill you have a 79% damage reduction. Throw in the bonus from master immunity and armor skill you have more dr than the Mako.
Actually I believe it was hardcore or insane difficulty. I've done an insanity soldier commando play through. Colossus X heavy, 2 medical exo X and master immunity. I died exactly 1 time, that was because I got stun locked by, multiple rocket drones and couldn't renew immunity when it ran out. There is a reason master immunity is considered god mode.

Yes, I'm not really sure Immunity was good for ME1. Immunity made it impossible for you to be killed. And it makes enemies who have it take a long, long time to die.

Well I can argue either way on immunity, It's not really any more overpowered than high end biotics who can lock down whole groups of enemies, before they activate immunity. It really is more about how powerful Shepard is with high level/top end gear.

If any plan involves getting Wrex drunk, I'm in.
