When you go on the Mako to ExoGeni on the Prothean Skyway, you hear radio chatter "we got the package" etc. Who was that talking? It's not those ExoGeni refugees.

I see you didn't paid attention. While driving on the Skyway, you can find two undergrounds, these people are in second. To enter them you have to go through doors like this one

I've wondered about them as well. Scavengers? Exogeni? What package were they securing?

if you listened before to the exogeni women(forget her name...even though I just did Feros for the 20th time) she says something about a group that went south. Probably talking about them. Also if you look around you will see a body near a crate, which is probably what they were going for.

For my guess, it seems to be a small band of smugglers sent to make a pick-up in the confusion of the geth attack who get way more than they bargained for. Consider that the Skyway probably only saw occasional use for transit between ExoGeni HQ and Zhu's Hope - even less since the Thorian was discovered - so its many nooks and crannies combine with its distance from populations and its many potential landing areas for shuttles or small craft, making it a prime resource for anybody who wants to put a ship down for a few minutes without answering a lot of questions about his cargo hold full of Red Sand and assault rifles.

well problem solved where they are but i dont get it why anybody go out from a heavy MAKO and secure a crate,unarmed and its suicide cuz the geth shocktroopers,juggernauts and armature where all over them!

that whole level is like a reminder of a futuristic bad dream... is that a warehouse with train cargo or something?

Not much to tell, from the sound of it, its just some mercs/smugglers who was doing some kind of job and was killed by geth...
