The only real life weapons I know of that are classed as battle rifles and are in service today are Belgium's FN FAL and the SCAR-H of the United States.

Why does whether or not the vindicator being a battle rifle even matter?

I find it funny how essentially every single 'battle rifle' in the gaming universe is modeled after the FAMAS, which is, technically, an assault rifle. And by essentially I mean ME2 and Halo. =D

And I noticed when using the GPR, it seems to be less effective than the avenger, collector AR and even the tempest, even against shields/barriers. And it seems to finish off a clip real quick. Anyone else notice?

I'm not sure who would classify either of those rifles as battle rifles... I've never heard of Fabrique Nationale referencing any kind of selective-fire rifle as a battle rifle at all. There's obviously the EBR but it's a "battle rifle" in name only, not classification.

It doesn't matter really, just a guy who enjoys guns and the occasional tangent. :)

Definitely. The GPR has always seemed to be an all-around poor weapon to me.

Kassa Locust

Vindicator is good but low ammo reserve makes it difficult to use without constantly running out on hardcore & insanity. Locust is the best all around "assault rifle".

Yes, you can definitly consider the Locust an assault rifle, and the best, to me. Sad that a Soldier will never be able to use it. Anyway, i used the vindicator for a while and, guess what... I took my Collector back. So now I have some 668 no-recoil rounds for my vanguard... LOL

Why would you take CAR for Vanguard if you have access to the Locust?

Don't get me wrong, I love the locust, but it's not as good as the vindicator. There are very few enemies that the locust can take out without having to reload, while the vindicator doesn't suffer from that problem. It's also not very good on squadmates since their rate of fire and damage isn't as high as if they were using the tempest.  It's not like ammo is that hard to come by even on hardcore/insanity level.

Wait. What? I can easily kill normal enemies with one Locust clip at long range.

Low level enemy sure. But once you  hit a legionarrie, centurion or an eclipse vanguard I'd rather have a vindicator. Or fighting close quarters with a geth hunter, I'm better off with a vindicator or a tempest than I am with a locust.

each weapon in this game serves a distinct purpose. i dont know why youd want to argue which one is the best when they are all really the best. you dont really use one weapon for all situations. youve got a sniepr for long range and a shotty for short range.

but theres only one weapon that ive fired and thought to myself, "OH SNAP!" and that was the revenant. well besides the nuke launcher ofcorse, but the revenant is awesome. firing the damn thing is even scary.

Yeah I'm a revenant lover too. When playing a soldier not having acess to the locust doesn't concern me one bit. The vindicator is a little better, and the revenant pretty much owns anything.

Vindicator? That thing runs out of ammo faster than i blink! And i want to click the trigger once, not thousand times.

Revenant is best weapon in the game, and for other classes there is wonderful Geth Rifle and Locust.

But a bigmac tastes like sh!t, i mean who knows what they put in that stuff, seriously though i do, it got a high rate of fire, good accuarcy, alot of ammo, its a nice all rounder, kinda like a M4, good at everything to a degree, not amazing at anything, but it doesnt suck at anything either.

I actually prefer the default assault rifle to the Vindicator, but I don't actually like burst firing guns.

Dunno about what the real military terms are. Never fired a gun in my life (I carry pepper spray, fwiw). But since armies were still using muskets and horse cavalry in the Crimean war, I suspect that terms wouldn't directly translate, anyway.

Revenant was scary with Inferno blast ammo. Fire in bursts if you need accuracy, but at close range-- ZMOG. Or at range, open up on a group with either disruptor or inferno then have your biotic sweep the unprotected sorts.

I like the Vindicator for my sniper (Widow) soldier, though, because I'm at range and want that accuracy. My Adept and Engineer like it, too, because it keeps me from being stupid and staying out of cover for a long burst (like I do with the Locust). I'm all about crutches for my lousy gamer skilz.

Edit to add:  Hamburgers FTW!  Bleh fast food.  Faster, cheaper, better at home.  Look, I know a lot of you are single guys, but it's NOT hard to buy real ground beef, slap between your hands and make patties.  Salt/Pepper, medium high heat, pat of butter in the pan, 3 minutes one side, 2 the other.  Slice of cheese on it for the last minute, if you want.  THERE.  Easier than mac and cheese.

i'm not surprised so many people favor the vindicator, its a powerful, precise weapon and definitely feels like the best choice for squadmates. its main drawback is the low amount of ammo, so i feel that on higher difficulties mastering the revenant looks like the best choice.

gpr made me a bit sad for its low damage.

You use a vindicator for close quarters combat?  That's one of the worst assault rifles to use in close quarters combat.  At that point unless you are a real lousy shot, you aren't gonna miss even if you like to go for headshots all the time.  The vindicator is more suited for sniping than the other asault rifles.

Basically, soldiers that use the vindicator/widow combo do more dps but sacrifice ammo for it and so lose out in longevity.

Two seasoned beef patties, lettuce, one slice of cheese, two slices of pickle, two shots of sauce made from mayonnaise and pickle relish, and 3 pieces of unusually sugary bread (one with sesame seeds on top).

It's the mystery ingredients in the "special sauce" that's a worry.

There's no mystery... It's basically Thousand Island sauce with some mustard, mayo, sugar and pickles. But if you really want to know...

Water, Vegetable Oil (Soya Oil), Gherkins, Sugar, Spirit Vinegar, Modified Maize Starch, Free Range Egg Yolk, Mustard Seed, Salt, Acetic Acid, High-fructose Corn Syrup, Mustard Flour, Stabiliser (Xanthan Gum), Preservative (Potassium Sorbate), Natural Flavourings, Firming Agent (Calcium Chloride), Dried Garlic, Spice, Colour (Paprika Extract).

Try this instead:
  • 1 tbs catsup
  • 2 tbs mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp relish
  • 1/2
    tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp white vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp ground
    pepper
Mix in small bowl.  Good for about 4 burgers.

Whoa. Somehow this turned into a cooking channel.

I don't like burgers anyway. Everything I cook tends to be extremely deadly curries with a million spices ... almost guaranteed to trigger every conceivable allergy.
