What is the point of Liselle besides to describe to me how horrible the chevaliers and Orlesian Royal hierarchy are? Is she a character like Gorim who just doesn't apply to any of my origins? Is it a Lelianna thing? A Loghain thing?
Educate me. I am padawan.

'The flirtatious and charming lady sells flowers and perfumes. She's a foreigner and loves the city. The player can come to her and reveal the fate of her boyfriend who she believes has taken the cowards way out to break up with her (not calling or writing). But instead he's dead.'
But there's no dialogue in the toolset about that quest from her, so I assume its not a bug, just cut out material.

Might have been part of some origin they planned in the beginning, human commoner perhaps I don't know.
This, at least that's what I assume. They confirmed human commoner got cut.

Just had a look at the toolset notes, and it seems that she was meant to be part of some side quest that got cut out, I think? Here's what it said:

This would make a lot of sense then. A lot of things were cut out after all so it's no suprise the original reason for her tales were also cut out. But she still is useful in understanding how Orlais works. Doesn't it add more to the story when you find out the differences beween Ferelden and other countries?
Is she a character like Gorim who just doesn't apply to any of my origins?
Wait what do you mean by that?

Presumably that if you're not a DN Gorim is just a merchant but if you are a DN he has a bigger involvement. I don't think Liselle has any bigger involvement although apparently the toolset indicated she was supposed to have a quest once.Wait what do you mean by that?Is she a character like Gorim who just doesn't apply to any of my origins?

When I first started playing I thought if I took Leliana to see her, she'd sell her a nice romantic gift - perfume or something Leliana would appreciate. But sadly, no.
This, I wanted to buy stuff from her. Not only for Leli though.
Damn you devs, damn you to hell!

Mmm, I just thought that he already knew about DN, that's why I asked. True though, he's just a merchant to every other origin. Like Leske is just a prisoner to everyone but DC. I wonder why they decided to cut Liselle's quest. Probably for time or it didn't fit their expectations I guess.Presumably that if you're not a DN Gorim is just a merchant but if you are a DN he has a bigger involvement. Oh dear. I can just see those two going on and on about Orlais, perfumes and soaps. And somehow, just somehow, Leliana will ninja shoes into the conversation. It's best for Liselle that she doesn't sell anything to her.CalJones wrote...

Thanks for this, Gemc123.
Man, it never ceases to grind my gears when I see things like this out of the tool set. I mean...come on! This game was in development since 2002-03; how the Hell did they not have enough time to add *everything* to it that was pretty much approved, just not sent to the coders, animatios, etc? Okay, I know that the game took a slightly different direction halfway through production (or so Rumors go) and things got even more frustrating when EA came into the equation.
If word of mouth is to be believed, EA pushed to have Dragon Age released in order to garner some profits from a long production cycle that EA felt had gone on too long. Had BioWare been able to do so, I think DA:O would have remained in *polish* mode for at least another quarter year, giving them time to address more bugs, tweek or add more content, etc. Now, I don't work for BioWare, so I know I could be way off the mark. It just doesn't seem to make sense when I see things like this or the whole Morrigan Cut Content that Gaider mentioned not long ago.
Had Obsidian been developing this it would come as no great surprise (KOTOR2, NWN2) however this just Doesn't seem like something BioWare would condone. Thier all about the perfect Story and Game experience, I can't see the Doctor's giving a Thumbs up to releasing a game that's missing perhapes 38% of it's intended content.
