I am a random person sometimes.  I get little ideas in my head about things, and I want to share them.  Yet these little tidbits usually aren't worth a full thread.  I want to invite anyone and everyone just to come in here and have fun sharing the little things that pop into your head about the Dragon Age games.  They can be serious and start a big discussion, or they can just be some little thing that maybe one other person will come in and say, "Yeah, I've thought that too."  Most of all I just want to have fun.  I'll post as much as possible to keep things going.  Luckily, I often have DA on the mind. ^^

So what are you all thinking?

I wonder how long it will be before someone writes a fanfic to try and explain the new DLC.

Which part of it? The Alistair/Leliana part, or the Herren is a desire demon part? I haven't played it, but I've been reading the forums like mad and I did find the allies that Alistair picked to be very interesting.

Any of it but particularly what lead Alistair to choosing golems, werewolves, and templars.

Or better makes a coherent story out of it. Good luck I say Oh, all those wonderful Alistair/Leliana-Stories in the future..

Okay I have written a one-shot about Darkspawn chronicles too... but that is more a mock/parody thing than anything else.:P

Oh, this I have to see. Is it up on ff.net?

I actually found Alistair's choice of allies the most interesting part as well. The templars I can understand (though Alistair didn't enjoy his time in the Chantry some of their beliefs rubbed off on him...which is understandable as young as he was). I really don't get the golems and I especially don't get the werewolves since Alistair actually approves if you free the werewolves from their beast forms.

Of course I'm sure the people that say it is just for a variety of enemies and not to read too much into it are probably right. Still it does make one wonder and want to write a bit of fanfic explaining it all.

Said it in another thread, but I'm betting Morrigan bullied him into every Evil decision. No warden = she gets to mock and push him around without mercy. Either that or without the Warden, Goldana turned him into a completely bitter jerk.

Nahh, it isn't yet.

I need a fitting ending for it still (and inspiration have temporarely left me, gaah), and then haunt my BR with that silly piece.

It isn't that great either...just a little take on the OOC- crapfest in the DLC.

Does anyone on here make Dragon Age fanart? I have a DeviantArt account, but I haven't been active on there for like a year now. I've seen some great DA:O pieces linked on here. I'm always impressed with the amount of people in any given fandom who can not only draw, but draw at professional levels.

I'm surprised Alistair made the persuasion check for the werewolves  Posted Image

Here is a question that I've had...(and the recent DLC has just brought it back to me). Out of all the darkspawn why are the shrieks the most alien-looking? If I didn't know from lore that they were elven darkspawn, it would have taken me awhile to figure it out on my own (and when I did it would have been through the process of elimination), because at least genlocks and hurlocks resemble dwarves and humans to some extent. Of course ogres have the same problem. I had no idea they came from Qunari until I read it somewhere. I guess shrieks can be explained by the recessive elven gene, but what about ogres? Did the design come first and then someone decided that they came from Qunari, or were they designed that way with their origin in mind? Shrieks are so disturbing. I have no problem killing them, I hate how different they are from elves.

I plug random tangents into a lot of threads.

IE: There was a thread on "Did the Bard Succeed" and I pointed out that technically Lel is not technically Orlesian. It didn't really change anything, but I thought it an interesting tidbit and my comments did spawn some Loghain - Lelianna interaction quotes I'd never heard that encouraged my view that he really doesn't learn anything from his mis-steps.

I made a thread about the Orlesian Lady selling flowers in the Denerim market that really wasn't thread-worthy - I just wondered why the heck she was there. I got my answer but i considered that a tid-bit.

If I think of other random thoughts I'll come back.

You can be Orlesian without being born in Orlais. People back then did not have to apply for citizenship and she spent her life from back when she was too young to remember (maybe two or three at the oldest) until two years prior to the game starting in Orlais. She's Orlesian.

What do you guys think EA/Bioware will do at E3? Some sort of teaser trailer about the upcoming title, perhaps(sequel, expansion or whatever)?

If February 2011 is the month of DA2 they might as well announce it.

I think we'll definitely see some sort of announcement about future DA title(s).

Not sure if we'll see a trailer but it sure would be good. Loved the Sacred Ashes trailer and Warden's Calling.

I'm running my first play-through as a blood mage. I must say, I've really been missing out. Not only is the spec insanely powerful (my mage can pretty much cast spells non-stop without using pots...I've never done that before), but it is great fun to RP as well. I just now went through WK and killed Avernus (for his robes meta gaming-wise and because he tortured his fellow Wardens for RP reasons...my PC may be a blood mage, but the thought of torturing Alistair for arcane knowledge is a no-no).

I was just grinning from ear to ear when Levi was going on about how he couldn't believe there was a blood mage in the Wardens. And my PC was all like, "I know, Levi. What were they thinking?" as he loots Avernus's body for those blood mage robes. The Circle Tower quest was great fun too for the same reason.

Any other random thoughts, you guys? I really don't care what it is. I'll discuss anything. (My hope is to have this thread get to epic proportions of randomness to rival the romance threads. Hey, a girl can dream right?)

Playing a blood mage has got me wondering...what would Alistair do if he knew? He seems to have really absorbed the Chantry's teachings on mages and maleficar and yet would he really kill his best friend and brother-in-arms if he knew the truth?

I doubt it. He can be talked into being okay with letting Jowan out because he'll be killed otherwise.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that with Jowan (and I just played that today ><). Yeah, I didn't think he would either. It's too bad you don't get the chance to tell him or anything. It would be interesting to see his response.

HeeHee! She's not with me in this playthrough. I have some characters that like to be lectured by Wynne, my blood mage isn't one of them.
