I, like, HAVE to get all the achievements or I don't "win" lol

Well I suppose it's certainly cheaper than the way I play.Posted Image I buy new games constantly. I do usually finish them at least (as in I beat the final boss) before buying a new game.

I still need to finish Fallout 3 (it's my brothers) I was working on it until I bought DA and now he's bought Oblivion so I've been working on it too. but right now I'm mostly sticking with DA.

So are there any companions you haven't romanced yet? If so why?

For me it's Alistair. Now before you all get the wrong idea, I actually like Alistair a lot. It's just that I almost always play male characters and he doesn't swing that way. ^^ I played the start of his romance once with a Dalish elf and I did think it was really well done and quite beautiful. One day I plan to finish the game with a female Warden and finish the Alistair romance. I won't make him king in that play through because I don't think I could take the break-up. (Thank God I wasn't one of those players who found out about the breakup on their first spoiler-free playthrough!)

You can be Queen if you're a HN and mistress *shudder* if you harden him. I did that (Queen) on my first completely spoiled playthrough. I really don't like surprises.

I haven't romanced Morrigan all the way through because I haven't gotten through a guy yet. I did a HNM so I could also try being Prince-Consort but the HN origin really, really bores me so I've barely left Lothering.

Edit: Not to mention that I can't see myself being selfish enough to say 'I think you'll be a better King than Anora would Queen but I just love you too much to do that! Screw Ferelden, let's go make out!'

I haven't romanced Morrigan or Leliana. My first character was male, and was romancing Zevran, but about halfway through the game I couldn't stand it any more and I introduced Alistair to Metagame Items Posted Image

I made my second character to be Queen with Alistair because I wanted to see that ending, but that character ended up falling hard for Loghain. Posted Image

Now I have a Dalish male and a Dwarf Noble male I want to play through with. I think I'll pair my Dalish male with Zevran and my Dwarf Noble with Morrigan. But my characters don't have a history of doing what I expect them to do, so we'll see. (I love this game.)

Leliana's personally doesn't really appeal to me, so it's a little difficult for me to come up with a character who would go for her. But I'll think of something eventually.

But you can only be Queen if you play a human noble and I REALLY can't get into a human noble character.  I've tried, believe me (male and female both).  So that means if I romance Alistair it will be with a mage or an elf and that means no Queen.  Stupid racist society.../mumbles

You know, I used to really like Lelianna when I first started playing the game, but somewhere along the line something happened and her character just doesn't really appeal to me anymore (as a romance).  I really don't have anything against her and she is nice to bring along because she always approves of my goody-goody decisions.  I don't really know what happened.  Maybe it's because she isn't who she seems to be at first.  I think I'd like her better if she really was the innocent little Chantry girl that she pretends to be when you first meet her.

It's a shame really, because while I do like the Morrigan romance it really drives me crazy because Morrigan can be such a ***** sometimes.  I much prefer sweet and innocent.  Alistair is really the only one that fits and he is a man (meaning that I seldom play women so he goes to waste, not that there is anything wrong with a man being sweet and innocent ;) )! LOL!

Both girls.  I can't play male chars so they stay celibate poor pets.  Well until Alistair and Morrigan perform certain evil rituals on the eve of battle etc etc.

Well it's not as though the girls have never had the pleasure before, so don't feel too bad for them. Now Alistair on the other hand... I sometimes feel strangely guilty when I play a male character knowing that poor Alistair has never gotten any and certainly won't in the game either.

I sometimes wish for the ability to erm, well, give Alistair the chance to try it out before having to do the deed with Morrigan.

Oh well. I'm sure he'll get over it...eventually.

Whenever I hear people talking about how rogue archers should sing the Song of Courage while firing so they hit more accurately, I always think of that line in "The Battle of Evermore" by Led Zeppelin that goes, "Sing as you raise your bow, shoot straighter than before..." And I think that is probably the nerdiest statement I have ever made.

This is an amazing random idea, but still it fits so perfectly that it almost doesn't seem random.

Well, there's a tiny Sketch fan thread and a 'Why can't we romance someone like Tug' thread.

Edit: Since they have such little screentime I doubt they'll be able to grow very big. I mean, just look at the Anders and Nate threads.

LOL! I guess I haven't been looking around enough yet! Still I thought those two were great, especially together. I wish we could have played with them more.

I loved it when we opened a door onto a bunch of guards and Tug was like "Good sodding morning!" LOL! And Sketch whenever he would say, "I'll show you...something." HeeHee!

I started the Tug thread -- I didn't know about this thread at the time.

I just wish that our dwarf in DA:O could have been more like Tug!  Now he's a dwarf you could have romantic fantasies about.

LOL! No one really uses this thread anyway.  Maybe I am the only one with random DA thoughts! XD You know, I've liked every dwarf companion they gave us EXCEPT Oghren! I mean I don't hate Oghren or anything, but he definitely doesn't inspire any love from me.

I'd TOTALLY love a dwarf LI in a future game.  I love elves and dwarves way more than humans.  I mean I am a human in real life; I am playing DA for fantasy! HeeHee! So having tons of human LIs to choose from and one elf and no dwarves makes me an unhappy camper.

Speaking of LIs, Sketch is way more my type than Zevran is.  I like nerdy, nervous mages more than badboy assassins.

LOL!

Being vertically challenged myself (though too tall to qualify as a genuine little person), I like playing a dwarf.
When I play a DF, there is just no good fit as a LI.  The game feels really lonely, even if you romance AL or Zev.  So, I'm usually pining for Leske (until he betrays me) or Gorim (until I find out he's married).  It would be nice to have a dwarf LI.

And I agree about the elf as well.  I've leared to be wary of "charming" guys, and Zev is just so "charming."  Don't get me wrong, I have romanced him and had fun doing so particularly since the Zev fan club had such good things to say.  They were right, there is more depth to him than you think, but he's just not my cup of tea.

Another random thought: I always feel a little sad when the end credits start to roll after a game of DA:O (since I never get a game save at the end of DA:A, that game never "ends" for me (lol)). You've been through so much. It's taken so long. And now, it's over. Wow.

Of course, I have now played the game so many times that if see one more werewolf just past some wooden planks, I think I'll run mad....

I'm down to what will probably be my last two playthroughs: semi-evil and totally evil and I don't look forward to either one, really, but I haven't seen what happens when you defile the ashes or slay the elves (and some other stuff).

I wonder if, after playing the evil one, I wll feel that same sense of post game regret or if I will just be glad to be done with evil characters....

The funny thing about Zevran's romance was that before I got the game, that was one of the things I was looking forward to the most. I had no idea about anything and I didn't know anything about Zevran except he was the only elf LI. And that was enough for me. So I romance him my very first playthrough and I did like him alright, yet the more and more I played the more I found that he really wasn't my type. There is nothing wrong with him, he just doesn't click very well with me. In fact none of DA's romances are exactly my type. Morrigan's is probably the closest strangely enough because of the whole first friend and love angle from her. But her b****ness can be insufferable at times. Then I get Sketch barely fleshed out and only for two hours and I am pining for what could have been if he had been a fully fleshed out companion and LI. LOL!

Yes! I always get sad at the ending credits, ESPECIALLY after a US ending. I cry, I admit it. XD You know, I've played this game a lot and I will probably play it more until I am utterly tired of it (I'm not there yet), but I don't think I could never stomach an evil playthrough. I love to play as a goody two-shoes. The most "evil" thing I can bring myself to do is the DR (sometimes). Other than that it is squeaky clean all the way. Needless to say Alistair, Lelianna, and Wynne always love me. LOL!

Actually there ARE toilets! They are the little wooden chair things with a hole in them. They are in every home you come across, usually near a tub or wash basin. One of the reasons I noticed them was that after playing Oblivion and lamenting how everything was so real EXCEPT that there were no toilets anywhere, DA's toilets came as a pleasant surprise.

ETA: More about the toilets because I find them fascinating. (Yes, I am weird, I know).  First off they don't look very comfortable for long sits with their small edges and wooden textures.  Plus the only place you never see toilets or other bathroom amenities is at the Dalish camp.  The Dalish must use the woods.  LOL!

Some Dragon Age Origins jokes.

There is a lot of blood about the circle tower.

Ji says to Qui,
Is there a blood mage about?

Qui
No, a extreme emo.

In a tower of blood mages.

S'chi says to Q'FRi
Hil'en looks pale has he been working hard.

No hes been listening to music.
You know how emos get when they listen to music.

In fact I make my Wardens (male and female) the type of person I'd like to romance instead.  I even like to imagine what dialogue options they would have, what gifts they would like and what choices they would approve or disapprove of.  It helps a little, but I'd still love to see a LI that really compels me at some point.

My LI would probably sound a lot like Alistair on paper, but for some reason I am never inspired to romance him in the game.  There is just some piece of Alistair that is off, but I am not sure what that piece is.  Like I said earlier Sketch is probably the closest I have seen so far, but of course I can't tell for sure since we barely get anything on him.
