think it has something to do with windows xp or dual core processors but DA CTD alot which is REALLY annoying so i try to save game whenever i hit a load/travel point or potential cut scene, (warning) once it crashed during when i was saving the game and i lost my save game file lucky for me i had another save game not too far away from my main save.

Anyway is there any new's on if DA are trying to fix this issue its obviously an issue with the game and not my computer has anyone else found a work around? e.g. older drivers etc?

Just want to play the great game without fearPosted Image

I can only speak for myself for this problem, but i have "fixed" it in pumping up the AA setting to maximum. Im guessing on a driver issue.

i just realised though i didnt have the latest drivers /facepalm. so maybe with these drivers it will not CTD..... one can hope

Reboot your system, try it again without starting anything at all (kill useless tasks in your taskmanager). If it works then, or runs a bit more stable, you have found your problem. Your system.

System is fine, DA is super smoothe in the highest settings its just the CTD's. Think it has something to do with the different zones/zoning.

hopefully bioware will be able to shed some light on the issue.

Did you reinstall the game at any point meanwhile? Could be worth a shot

never tried that, think i might have to give it ago. i think the problem is its loading in far too fast and not loading everything in properly. my load screen is practically instantly.

That pretty much sounds like a corrupt install. Indoor Loadings are pretty fast, but outdoor are mostly not.

i have this probelm. Do you get the DA has stopped working error or do you see something else? Ive noticed that sometimes its totally random but other times it will crash at a specific point in the game and keep doing so even after a restart. When it crashes at a specific point in the game i turn off all of the online options in that options tab and it allows me to get past it but will eventually crash again at another random point lol weird.

Tried everything i can think of, graphic tweaks, new drivers etc but i still get the same results : /

my specs are

Windows vista 32bit

Q660 quad core

3.2 gb ram

Nvidia 9600gt latest beta driver

Im just guessing atm. But a reinstall (first without patch) could do the trick. Same issue? Patch. If it doesnt work after that. I would ask a friend which is really into this, to lookup your PC

usually reloading an earlier/different save game then reloading it would work for me but thats not working anymore. i just hope my save game isnt corrupt. to be honest i think its a game issue rather then system issue.

Lets see after the reinstall

Turn all graphics settings to "low". Disable frame buffer effects. Leave Chantry. Turn all setting back to where you had them. Problem should be solved.
