So my trap works, it shows up when discovered, animates when stepped on (a floor plate trap) says "trap triggered" but deals no damage. Any suggestions?

It is working fine for me. Created a placeable, selected "Trap, Wooden Claw Trap" as appearance and set the PLC_TRAP_TYPE to 205. Done

I have the same problem, but then I set the Trap to a rank, it deals damage.

I'll try setting the trap to a rank.
I set the rank to boss and still no damage. I'm using a 20th level thief. So maybe he's too good to be damaged. To high a dexterity and other stats?

Maybe. My test trap also dealt almost no damage to my character.

The problem with testing with high-level characters is that they (by definition) have the ability to overcome whatever you're throwing at them, making it difficult to tell what's working and what's not. Life is a lot simpler if you test with a 0-level squab until you know everything is working. The fewer variables you work with, the easier it is to find the one that's off.

I tried a 7th level warrior and had the same results with the trap set to a boss rank. So maybe I'll set up a char. gen and see how that guy fairs.
