Shall I add this as a tutorial on the wiki, or do one of you want to?

Stay tuned for my next problem, which is getting the .dds texture I made to look normal and not really distorted at a distance or at extreme angles. It's weird, the original texture has a nice blurry look, but my texture looks really ugly and shimmery all over when you look at in from far away. As far as I can tell, there's no other LOD on the original texture... I think it must have to do with what DDS format I saved it under (I'm using the nvidia plugins for photoshop.)  Well, I'm off to make a different post about this :)

if you set the files of your project to public so that we can download them and perhaps also post a screenshot then we could help you^^



(if you wish you can post the steps as a tutorial at the wiki. i know, shame on me but it can't be helped... i am too lazy :D )

Doh! I fell into the whole "forgot to set files as visible to everyone" trap. That's the oldest one in the book :( Oh well, even Bioware people have fallen for it, right?

you have not generated mip maps. if you save your texture you have to select the option to generate them.
