Open House is a place for builders to explore practical ways of creating a more open Dragon Age community.

In our view, building is more fun and delivers better mods to players when
  • Free artwork and resources are shared without restriction
  • Mods can be adapted without permission
  • We self-organise as a voluntary association of equals
There's a lot to be done. For example, we don't yet have a viable approach for promoting and publishing mods or sharing components on an open basis.

We don't pretend to have all the answers yet - this is something we'll create together.

So, if you're on the same page, we'd like to hear from you!

Would not uploading a module to this be giving permission to adapt it as anyone sees fit? In this case its not without permission.

The core issue is trust in almost all of the cases that involve permission. If I can trust you to use my work, I will let you do as you see fit, otherwise I won't. Its the same issue with authorship and citation, acknowledgments, etc. Perhaps a GPL like license would be something to consider? Without any restrictions at all, this might be tough to sell if you know what I mean.

Can I suggest that we don't start a debate in this forum?

We've set up a separate group precisely so that like-minded folk can discuss what we're going to do in harmony.

While your comment is courteous, as always, I think we both know this is an emotive topic that can cause friction (in which I am as much to blame as anyone else, of course).
