To put it shortly - we have absolutely no idea

Yeah, it would be pretty disappointing if Mass Effect, the shooter, better incorporated your story decisions than Dragon Age, the RPG, does. So hopefully some choices carry over.

Now I don't think the amount of things that carry over matter. I just think things need to feel connected and authentic.

For example, if you're in Orlais, a lot of Ferelden-specific stuff doesn't need to matter. All that really needs to carry over are major decisions involving characters that may re-appear in a sequel-- Alistair (alive or dead), Anora (alive or irrelevant), Loghain (alive or dead), Morrigan (advising Empress, something compatible with though not explicitly stated in all Morrigan endings) being obvious and Leliana, Zevran being possible due to story flexibility and community request.

(I am above operating on the assumption that the Warden carries over.  If he doesn't then import discussions, I think, don't matter nearly as much.  I'd want to see certain storylines and mysteries still addressed, of course.)

Honestly, Bioware has set the bar for sequels extremely high with Mass Effect 2.

Honestly - no. If they import your decisions like in ME2 I rather want DA2 in a different setting with new characters.

I don't know, it all depends if you can carry over. I hope the main choices will carry over but I wouldn't be upset if the dark ritual was forced into play in da2.

The Awakening Epilogue slides always have the Warden mysteriously disappear, which, for me, is more than enough material for a sequel. Perhaps, like many have pointed out, not necessarily meaning you'll get to play as the Warden, but I doubt the writers would have inserted an unavoidable disappearance if it wouldn't get to play a large role in the future.

Old Book mentioned that perhaps the PC will be the Warden/Morrigan's child in part 2, which made me squeel. Playing as a tainted character with the soul of an untainted Old God? Talk about awesome. Raises a whole lot of questions. Will the Darkspawn be able to sense the child and be drawn to it, for instance? An incredible amount of possibilities, either way.

That said, it's far more likely the offspring will turn out to be an NPC, seeing as though they're probably of a too epic calibre for the writers to be left to our influence.

Also, don't forget we still have two Blights coming. Architect's influence or no, there are two Dragons left.

For some reason, the whole "You get to play a character from another nation"-option doesn't appeal to me, at all. Inner-fangirl wants to remain a Ferelden, dammit. Might settle for a Choose-Your-Nationality-option.

So focus on BLIGHTS, DARKSPAWN, and THE WARDEN all over again?

You guys don't want DA2, you want DAO 2.0

No to first 2, yes to the third.

Provided it's the same Warden from Origins.

But I definitely want a new land, new enemies and a new story for him, if possible.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but:

In an interview one of the Devs said that they are going to create a story without Darkspawn, Wardens, and Old Gods for Part 2, in short tell a whole other tale. DAO may be referenced, but I dont think it will as Mass Effect is a trilogy while Bioware has never claimed the same for DAO.

I will try to find a link for all of ya.

Also the Morrigan fans howling for more Morrigan amuses me

It quite likely they just might go with a new character for DA2. But right now they appear to be keeping their options open (or at least refuse tio speak clearly on the issue).

Well, all I'm saying is that there are many possibilities. Continuing
the storyline with the same characters and same continuity has its
advantages, certainly, but also its drawbacks -- many of which people
have already outlined. Selecting a canon timeline or simply starting
with something completely different also has its advantages and
drawbacks. It can seem a little bit like "damned if you do, damned if
you don't" but ultimately I'd like to think there are a lot of ways we
could go, and each of them has things which make that choice attractive
to me as a writer.

Glad to hear it. Here's something else to amuse you.

Bitmob: Will we see more
Morrigan?

FM: We made it very clear that Morrigan played a
very
important role in Origins, so it's safe to say at some point, we haven't
seen
the last of Morrigan. Whether that's in Awakening or not, we'll have to
see.

Posted Image Posted ImagePosted Image Oh it has amused me at least.

I would absolutely love it if our choices affect DA2. Question is will they be like ME2 choices or will they be more involved?
