Normally starting the launcher should reset the registry entries and write them new for the new location.

Thnx for your reply but it dosn`t reinstal the cdkey into the registry so the pc thinks the game is not installed, although I can play it fine it just won`t let me instal the new dlc I just bought.

If you already know how to edit the registry, I imagine you could use its search function on a few keywords like Mass Effect, Electronic Arts, etc. to find the appropriate entries.

Alternately, if you have the game on disk/backed up from a Direct Download client, re-installing would probably do it. ;)

Thnx Kloreep, but I was hoping to avoid reinstalling, you see on Dragon Age theres a very simple way to reinput the cdkey by accessing one of the game files but I can`t seem to do it on Me2 I just wondered if there was as similar way on ME2 reistalling all the patches and previous dlc is going to be a pain, but it looks like the only way sheesh.

That's the state of modern PC gaming for you! Always requiring you to do the most repetitive, cumbersome tasks because the developer can't be arsed to do something properly.

 In the habit of moving your installed programs around, are you? If you were to buy a new XBox and wanted all your Mass Effect stuff to work on it, you would have similar trouble ahead with license migration at the least. And, if you had a new hard drive, add whatever jury-rig setup you have to do to transfer files between your officially-licensed-don't-you-dare-hook-it-up-to-your-PC 360 drives. PC gaming certainly has its troubles, but this would not be one of them. ;) No offense to the OP, but this problem would have been avoided by re-installing rather than transferring the game directory manually.

Lets just get this clear I use a separate hard drive for my games on my pc ok,I`ve built a new pc and have moved the game hd across to it ,I havn`t moved any directories at all,now I have all my games fully working but I can`t instal my new dlc for ME2,I had a similar problem with Dragon AO also a bioware game with the same config utility on Dragon there is a simple way to reinstal the cdkey which is kept in the reg. of the os.hd I just would like to know if there is a similar way to do it on ME2 as this should solve the problem without having to spend a couple of hours reintalling everthing.
